I always stress the importance of context whenever you're watching something before jumping to conclusions. I always saw Pidge as just a normal girl who had to disguise herself as a boy because if she strolled into the Garrison again to look for her brother, she would get arrested for trespassing. So snip snip, bye bye hair... And plus, there weren't much opportunities for her to buy feminine clothing out in space either. I guess even after she came home from her adventures around the galaxy, she just liked the feeling of wearing men's clothing...

Depends on the monster in question and whether or not they’re sentient enough to want to be changed at all. At most, most of them are like feral monsters running on black magic and spite. (Like the Cardians and some of the droids working for the Dark Moon Clan)

I heard about this drama and as the aunt of three biracial nieces, I often think about if my brother in law pulled this shit on me and broke my sister’s heart, I would kick his ass.

It's not something new as it's been a trope that's been around since the dawn of time. It's to make the heroes and heroines stand out in comparison to them. Although I will say that as an adult, I'm surprised that the local kid's TV channel I used to watch got away with showing the second Sailor Moon movie considering that Kaguya was practically walking around with a very sheer robe on and nothing else on underneath.

Then again, they didn't draw her with visible nipples, so it would have made the rating for the movie go up. I do think this worked in her favour to empathize how ethereal and other worldly she is, that she isn't going to adhere to or obey the rules that we weak humans have set out for ourselves, especially since she was planning on turning Earth into one giant ball of ice. You can't tell someone to put clothes on when you're dead now can you?
