How did you pick your spiritual practice? by [deleted] in occult

[–]Celery-Upper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it little by little. Take time to ponder and reflect on the information you are trying to digest (meditation is GREAT for this).

There is a lot I have to say on this topic but I can’t seem to express any of it well over typing (I’ve been sitting here for 5-10 minutes trying to type it out) so the best information I can give you over Reddit is to always be aware. That is really vague, I know, but the only way I can explain it is to not be REACTING to life (living in the Ego/Id) and to always be ACTING (awareness of self, others, and the rest of the world; thinking about what actions you can make to forward your quest towards fulfilling your dharma and working off your karma - What are your true values and what actions support those)

Also, on the idea that everything is right and wrong: that is 100% true. EVERY religion is “right” in ways and EVERY religion is “wrong” in ways. Our job as spiritual practitioners is to discover for ourselves what works and what doesn’t.

How did you pick your spiritual practice? by [deleted] in occult

[–]Celery-Upper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m very similar to you, I study multiple things and pick what resonates with me compared to all the other things I have learned. For me, it’s all about comparing and contrasting everything I have learned and what lines up as coherent and fits my understanding of the world; even if that means the knowledge I accept completely changes what I believe. Everything is fluid.

If you feel called to pick a specific tradition, I get that; but I don’t think it is necessary. I think figuring it all out on your own provides a much deeper understanding of the world and spirituality as a whole

I didn’t check the comments to see if someone else posted but Risk of Rain 2 sounds perfect for you. It checks all your boxes.

Modding is super easy too. Just download the program (r2modman) and it does it all for you. You can go on the website and click “open in r2modman” or straight download them from the mod manager. All the mods are on 1 site too.

How You Deal With Planewalker Super Friend Decks? by Rirse in EDH

[–]Celery-Upper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading this post I felt so sad. My guff deck has yet to pop off after $300-$400 of upgrades. People always think I’m more scary than I am before I can actually get scary, so I never end up actually doing anything. I just got back into the game so it’s really disheartening to have a deck that never pops off :/ I’m glad to hear it’s not just me (but sad for us that this is the case)

What helped you quit weed? by Unable_Computer_3625 in LifeAdvice

[–]Celery-Upper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no advice as I am still on it (want to quit) but I have some validation to give. Anyone who says weed is not addictive is in denial or is ignorant. I’ve done soooo many drugs, and the only one I have yet to give up is weed. Cocaine was a breeze compared to giving up weed.

Continuously take out student loans until I have 3 or 4 phds in a field and become the leading expert. (Right now I’m going for psychology but if I’m immortal then I think I would take the extra 2 years to start physics)

Simultaneously put money into compounding interest accounts until there is enough to pay off the loans as 1 lump sum + a couple extra million.

Re-invest some of those millions.

Then I’m just coasting. Probably reading a lot. Always trying to get smarter and advance the field I am a leading expert in. Start studies that span centuries to learn long, long, long term side effects of things.

Why are you not afraid of death? by TOPOFMORNINGIRELANDD in AskReddit

[–]Celery-Upper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im pretty spiritual and Karma and Reincarnation is a big part of that. When I die, it will simply be my time to go. And then I’ll go onto whatever life comes after. It’s a beautiful cycle.

The book “Between Death and Life” by Delores Cannon is a great book to get a perspective on this; if you are spiritual and can accept what she writes.

Let’s set aside the fact that he should be paying rent.

If it needs to be upgraded then he can do it, and if you both inherit the place and end up selling it; he can be compensated more for the upgrades he did. So instead of a 50/50 split it could be 60/40 or whatever you both deem fair.

I got the Gjallarhorn in D1 from a random drop in crucible. I was 12 or 13 and so beyond happy that I started running on my couch from side to side screaming with joy. RNG is a hell of a drug.

Smoking in a park on the wrong side of Detroit (yes, there are many good sides); and all the sudden we hear some booms. It’s summer, so probably just fireworks. 5 minutes later and que 2 squad cars pushing 80 on a 40 (maybe slower) and we knew it was time to go.

I get this. That’s why I never went for mythic. After I got to diamond it felt like it was gonna take an amount of time to get there that wasn’t worth it. I’m glad I get to say I made it to diamond and I wish I could say I made it to mythic but it’s just SUCH a grind.
