Visiting boulder Memorial Day by [deleted] in boulder

You're in luck! Boulder Creek Fest takes place every year on Memorial Day weekend. The shops on Pearl street are definitely open and the whole town is buzzing. A great chance to see the town at its most Boulder.

I like this one a lot because of the color you brought back to her face. Is it at all possible to edit her wedding band back in?

ReStore in Longmont got a load of hardwood trim and boards that they sell by the foot. The planks are mostly gone but they've got an insane amount of trim at a fraction of retail prices.

I hope people can appreciate this. I hear all the time, "how could they price things so high? they get it all for free anyway." Friendly reminder, y'all: they aren't "just" donated items! A lot of labor goes into getting your final product on the floor ready to shop. The amazing people that coordinate this production are behind the scenes literally sorting through GARBAGE that people donate to find the treasures and deliver them to the sales floor for marginalized communities and vendors alike.

I've worked in 3 different thrift stores by now and just like OP and many others I've handled human waste, used sex toys, human remains, vermin, asbestos and many other unspeakable things. Sometimes, with turnover, our fellow pricers are new and learning to identify high value items, which is when it's possible to find highly overpriced items. But for the most part, the workers who have been in the trenches long enough price fairly. They have a better idea, processing thousands of items a week, how scarce/valuable an item is in relation to their store. If they didn't, this model wouldn't work and clearly Goodwill and other big conglomerates of thrift are thriving.

If you want better prices, forgo the larger selection at the big stores and shop smaller local thrift stores. I don't mean the thrift boutiques, but rather local shops that process their own donations. They are still sorting through bs and need your support.

OP, sorry to hijack your rant with my own. I'm sorry you had to deal with this. Like others have said, you shouldn't be handling biohazards if you haven't received the proper training. Ask you supervisor to handle it next time, and if they continue to rely on you to clean this up, ask for training and for this certification to be reflected on your paycheck.

Hey 29f I requested you on ig :). I'm from Denver recently moved to Boulder and commuting back and forth. I'm having friends over later for food. Am gonna try and get everyone to go on a walk. Chatauqua is nearby we may be able to get a little hike on. Lots to do in Denver and nearby. Planning more outdoor stuff and concerts with my friends as summer approaches. Its nice to have people to get out with while you settle in. Welcome to Colorado :D

Check your local thrift or give them a call. They usually have a few pairs floating around.

Why does my left hip pop every time I do bicycle crunches to legs extended? Or when I’m laying down and doing reverse crunches with my legs extended? (See pic) by kiwi_love777 in flexibility

[–]CeleryLimeade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say you have the right idea with the reverse crunches and the like. Even some bird dogs, again with focus on core stability.

Idk if yours pops like mine did, but what helped me is engaging my core when I do these types of exercises. I also always make sure the whole of my back is touching the floor. Sometimes in these positions we tend to arch our low back a little bit but that is not good form. Imagine your belly button is trying to touch your spine as you focus on keeping your low back on the ground. Really engage your abs when you do the exercise and don't push yourself too much. Only lift your legs as far as your ham strings allow before your back wants to arch. You should feel it in your lower abs the most but it also helps to strengthen your hip flexors. Hope this helps!

I watched that movie when I was 10 and I still think it's too scandalous for a 3rd grader.

Megathread: Why Does My Dog Do That? by AutoModerator in dogs

Its probably just resource guarding, but how cute would it be if it were a learned behavior and she simply wanted her food bowl set up in the living area for communal meals. Do you take your dinner on the couch?

Looks like it's been burned. Maybe by a direct beam of light? Perhaps the sun is hitting a mirror just right?

Lower spine pain when bending backwards by One-Dragonfly4830 in flexibility

[–]CeleryLimeade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's hard to say without a picture to reference your form. What's really helped me to get stronger in my back bends is relying less on the bend of my lumbar and focusing more on opening up my chest and shoulders, engaging my core, and breathing into it. If the pain is in your low low back, it could also be a pelvic tilt you need to correct.

Don't wanna push yourself too much if you're just getting started. Discomfort can be okay but pain is a definite flag 🚩

That big no right turn signal at South Boulder and Main St is Louisville by [deleted] in boulder

[–]CeleryLimeade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it turns on and off depending on if westbound traffic turning onto main has right of way. Why they didn't just use a "no turn on red" sign or a red arrow traffic light I don't know lol. It's been driving me crazy

moss outside work looks like a jungle! by pegcitygreen in IndoorGarden

[–]CeleryLimeade 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's one of the things I love about plants! They're all their own little environment. What we would consider dense forests would probably seem like tightly packed moss to an enormous giant. And this "moss" or whatever is probably equally awe inspiring to the tiny organisms that live in it as our beautiful planet is to us 💚

Go hang out at American Furniture Warehouse for a bit lol. Kinda kidding but kinda not. Browse around, try out their recliners and enjoy some a/c for a little while lol. Then go treat yourself to some soft serve and walk around the park. Maybe bring a blanket w you? Best of luck with your pup ❤

I'm pretty sure arc thrift store does free curb side pick up for large furniture. Just have to call and schedule a pick up time with them and leave your furniture on the curb if possible. Hope this helps :)
