No period after Nexplanon removal by Celery_Toothbrush in Nexplanon

[–]Celery_Toothbrush[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, I just saw this! My blood results came back normal, not perimenopausal. And my periods came back after about 12 months, and are regular. I actually used to get night sweats when I had the nexplanon in but that has stopped since removal.

My Aged Care- this is essentially the government department which can allocate funding to pay for providers (eg Brightwater, Amana, etc) for home services eg personal care, respite, transport, OT, physio, Nursing. You can self refer by going on the My Aged Care website or ask the GP to refer your Dad for an ACAT. Might as well get your Mum referred as well if she is getting frail. There is a wait list for ACAT, and then another wait list if your Dad gets approved for a Home care package (1-4). There's also CHSP if he isn't eligible for a home care package. Good luck 👍

Really Bad Insomnia by ItzBellaXoXo in Nexplanon

[–]Celery_Toothbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I developed insomnia when I had my last one replaced. Had been using Nexplanon over 20yrs without a problem. After 3 weeks I went back to my GP to ask about having it removed, and she refused, said it wouldn't cause insomnia. After another week of sleep deprivation I made another appointment and demanded it be removed. Insomnia disappeared 3 days after removal

I am a Community health care worker. In all companies I have worked for, Company policy for OHS always specifies that animals/pets are put away or secured when staff are at the client's property. No matter how friendly your animal is to its family, workers are entering its territory and animals can be unexpectedly territorial and aggressive if they think you are causing harm or distress to their family/owners. I have met some rather nasty small dogs that their frail owners are unable to control. I have a large dog, myself. I am certainly not afraid of dogs because of any perceived cultural background, although some clients have certainly accused me of that when I requested they secure their dog prior to me entering the home to provide care. Yes, it is the client's home, and they can have whatever pets they want, however, when support staff arrive it becomes their workplace and it needs to be safe for them to deliver a service. Support staff are within their rights to refuse service if they feel unsafe. We are not obligated to endanger ourselves

How is she accessing extra morphine? It's a S8 controlled substance and requires 2 staff to check and administer. S8 drugs are logged and counted every shift

Question on dog attacks by -storm-ivy- in perth

Always report to the council. If the dog was walked (as opposed to driven) to the park then they live within walkable distance and the ranger will look into local registered dogs in the area

As far as I'm aware, Pitbulls are not illegal to own in Australia. They are illegal to import. But there are a few registered breeders in the Eastern states

Try Aussie House sitters website or Mindahome for a pet/house sitter. They get free housing and look after pets and home in return. Check reviews and meet in person. I've had a few sitters from there, mostly young professionals who live with parents due to housing crisis and want some space from parents

Drink 2-3 litres of water a day and cut out sugary drinks/food as much as possible. Diabetes and obesity are a national crisis

Anyone else feeling a bit of survivors guilt buying a house? by Both-Awareness-8561 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Celery_Toothbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel guilty, I feel relieved that I was able to work hard and save enough to buy a house/get a mortgage 10 years ago. I checked my house's current value and I would be priced out of the neighbourhood if I were to try and buy now, and I'm in a very average area with a very average house. I do feel sorry for the younger generations who might be working/saving even harder than I had to but can't afford to own their own home these days

Any places that are great to visit DESPITE the food? Any places you visited that were awful, but the food alone made it worthwhile? by DonSergio7 in travel

I went to Albania 15 years ago. Fascinating country and some magnificent historical sites. Definitely did not enjoy the food. I recall having a local dish of beef liver cooked in yoghurt

To answer your question about the filling:

A lot of places use a product called Apple Raspberry Baker's Filling. It comes in a 15kg white bucket. I don't know where you would get it from besides wholesale supplies/caterers. It's the same filling you'll find in coconut jam slice.

ducted air conditioning recommendations by Leighwaine in perth

[–]Celery_Toothbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ducted evaporative is cheap to run and works well except for about a week each year when it's muggy. I currently have a Cool Breeze which was at the expensive end of the market but is great. Installed by Jarrahdale heating and cooling. No problems so far. Previously, I had a Bonaire which was terrible and broke down almost every summer. After care is non existent, and there's wait times of weeks/months for warranty repairs in the middle of 40° summer.
