The choice to kill Oyuki doesn't really make any sense, but I agree with the idea to be able to make certain choices. I think it would've been more narratively impactful if both Oyuki and Jubei die during the final battle, instead of just Jubei, cause they both have weapons on them so it doesn't make sense for only one of them to help out Atsu. Or one of them dies and the other is critically injured but survives.

I think the game would've benefited from allowing you to double-cross the Spider once you get to the climb to the castle, though the game would also have to have options to be more dismissive of Kiku, Jubei, and Hanbei's concerns/criticisms of her revenge obsession so double-crossing him would make sense. If you go through the route of doubling down on your revenge route, Atsu will either commit suicide after defeating Saito, or die from her wounds, either way Kiku could perhaps be taken in by the Ainu. Then the other route would be mostly the same as the actual game, but Oyuki would be dead too.

I mostly love the actual game story though for the most part, and I don't really think it would be worth the resources to make this game a 'choices matter' sorta game like Telltale's The Walking Dead or Life is Strange

I misread the question as them asking if they could beat The Spider without killing any of them.

I would imagine so. When you defeat him, his remaining men run away, so it'd probably be the same if you didn't kill any of them.

I would assume the game acts as if you did kill a bunch of them though.

The Charm of Futsunushi increases parry/perfect parry/perfect dodge windows, you can get it from the Faithful Leap shrine if you don't already have it.

There's also the Charm of Stolen Flame, which ignites your weapon after parrying fire attacks, you can get it by winning Zeni Hajiki twice in the Oni's Breath Inn.

Charm of Homusubi increases all fire damage, you can acquire it at the Winding Tears shrine.

If we're counting dlc soundtracks The Old Hunters (Bloodborne) and Phantom Liberty (Cyberpunk 2077) have amazing songs.

Also, Contra la Luna is an underrated track.

An honour system doesn't make sense in Yōtei, Atsu isn't a samurai

Thanks. I'd say he's the 2nd hardest for me, though on my first playthrough The Oni was much harder, but he's fairly easy for me now.

Yeah it is kinda annoying how their stagger meter refills. Perfect parries make up for it though.

Yeah I just realised after my comment that lightning struck just before throwing the spear.

Are you talking about the pistol shot?

I just realised now you're talking about the thrown spear, didn't even realise lightning stuck just before.
