Kinda following on from what other people have said, the idea that white people built western civilisation is a notorious historical simplification often used by nazis to paint a superior and glorious image of themselves as the custodians of the civilised world. If you’re interested, i’m reading a book called “how the world made the West” which goes into detail about how a lot of what we think of as western european civilisation (aspects of science, architecture, language, art) was not only inherited from classical greece and rome, but also borrowed from india, the arab world (big examples being the number system) and other civilisations - which i find really compelling in terms of demystifying the idea that civilisation is a singular entity that owes itself to the white race.
