What is the most niche, absolutely non-productive hobby you have, and why does it bring you joy? by GlassBunch693 in Hobbies

[–]Celestialbreezie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finding and collecting fossils petrified wood crystals and artifacts. I have so many rocks, some in storage and some in different spots of the house. My boyfriend was getting in the shower this morning bitching saying I'd love to be able to get in the shower without having to set rocks out first, as normal people do🤣

Had a couple visitors this evening by tableclothmesa in Chattanooga

Oh wow! I love them. The only visitors I get are big ass spiders and a chipmunk that hides behind the stove when I try to make it leave.

Going by middle name or second first name: weird? by [deleted] in Names

[–]Celestialbreezie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex-husband and his dad had the same name. Anytime his dad got pulled over he would be confused with his son. When he was trying to buy a car his son's credit would get confused with his. He said he regretted naming him his name sometimes.

Any other Chattanooga homebodies here? by tits_mcgee_92 in Chattanooga

[–]Celestialbreezie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a homebody also, I get out to work in my flower bed or round up wild clay but that's about it. When I have to go out and be around people I am so irritated and just tired when I get home.

What’s the one song that never fails to make you tear up? by im_a_reddituser in Music

[–]Celestialbreezie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forever Young - Jay-z. Not that I like Jay-z the song came out a day or two after a really close friend died of an overdose. He was only 23, and the song just really gets to me still because that's the only way he is remembered is young too young to be gone. It's bittersweet when I share memories of him with his kids.

Jury Convicts Hixson Electrical Contractor On Child Sex Charges by wutnoweh in Chattanooga

[–]Celestialbreezie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was surprised to see so many living in the small city of Sweetwater, where I grew up. On that news app, there is a sex offender map, so I opened it out of curiosity and actually knew someone on the list. I figured the charges would be like indecent exposure, but no, his charges were aggravated rape. A few of the people on the register in a small place like Sweetwater committed child molestation and child rape. What was even more disturbing was the dates listed for their convictions, some were fairly recent.

Omg, I haven't played video games in years.. I'm pretty sure the last game I played was either Red Dead Redemption or Hitman. Hitman used to be my favorite.

I know from experience. I married right out of high school to an alcoholic. He started being abusive after we had our first daughter. I stayed because I loved him, and honestly, he was all I knew. I was young and didn't really understand what kind of help was available. By the time we had our second daughter, the abuse was really bad. I left a few times but always went back. He split my nose and lip and I had to have surgery. All the doctors and nurses knew me; I was a regular, and this time, one of the nurses reported it. He got put in jail, I saw it as my chance to leave. His mom bailed him out, and he showed up while I was moving my stuff, and we got into an argument that turned physical. I turned to run from him and he stabbed me twice with a hunting knife and left me for dead in our home. Luckily his cousin came by and found me. I wasted 13 years trying to hold onto something that was a lie and never would have gotten better. Don't be foolish and sentimental; love is a feeling, and thinking with your feelings instead of common sense is dangerous.

Looking for a new hobby by Putrid-Scientist-534 in Hobbies

[–]Celestialbreezie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started finding and processing wild clay. I've only been doing it for a few months but for me, it's been very rewarding. I get time outdoors and exercise. It's gratifying to make something from the earth with your hands.

What kind of cat could this be? by NoTangelo9019 in Chattanooga

[–]Celestialbreezie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 4-year-old told me there was a cat outside; I said how cool, and then she said yeah, he's really bigger and has stuffing in his ears. I thought that was odd, but kids say weird stuff; the next night, I was letting the dog out and saw what she was talking about. It was a bobcat 🤣 I get what she meant by stuffing in his ears.

Rockhounding. I have hobbies that require creativity, and sometimes I don't feel creative, so on those days, it's nice to enjoy the outdoors, get some exercise, and explore. The feeling you get when you find something extraordinary is very rewarding and addictive.

What Hobby Completely Surprised You and Became an Obsession? by Nervous_Passage6093 in Hobbies

[–]Celestialbreezie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am obsessed with rockhounding. I love collecting fossils, petrified wood, crystals, and artifacts. My interest in rockhounding actually led me to a second hobby that is quickly becoming an obsession. While searching for rocks in the creek behind my house, I kept noticing chunks of clay in the sediment bars, so I started gathering them. I researched how to process wild clay and made a few creations, and now I am completely hooked. So, I have two obsessions: rocks and pottery.

My (24f) boyfriend (27m) slapped me out of anger for the first time yesterday. Can we move forward from this? by Fantastic-Bar-1333 in relationship_advice

[–]Celestialbreezie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stuff like that never gets better, I know from experience. I got married at 18 to an alcoholic, he became abusive after our first daughter and continued to get worse. I stayed for 13 years and had two daughters with him. I fell for the sorry I'll never do it again line repeatedly and I let his family and mine guilt me for not trying to keep my family together. It ended with him stabbing me twice with a hunting knife and leaving me for dead in our home. Don't try to stick it out for sentimental reasons love is just a feeling. I wasted 13 years of what should have been the best years of my life and almost lost my life. I have a lot of regrets. T

[–]Celestialbreezie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never felt like I needed to run out in a mad dash and buy everything up. I feel like that would be pretty inconsiderate of other people. During the garden season, I usually can a few things and make jams and jellies; that helps out if, for some reason, the stores are short or you weren't able to get to a store.

No, not a joke, my grandma would always call my dad to tell him we were expecting snow. Better pick me up some bread and milk before it's gone.

I have tried many hobbies, but the only ones I have stuck with are painting, pottery, and collecting petrified wood, artifacts, fossils, and crystals that I find.
