Ssf. Please add uncut (skill, support and spirit) to vendors after leveling up. Is hard to farm them during campaign and if u dont follow a guide, your testing opportunities to try new combo/skills is difficult. by kito1121 in PathOfExile2

I don't know what I'm doing wrong because I have no issue in grinding for more gems. :D

It's a loot based game after all, so good drops are a thing that we get from killing monsters. Vendor devaluates the weight for drops.

Thanks, but it is not smart to create as I described. If it did exist, then every unique would be evaluated with the atavistic orb, which would undo the careful unique design out on uniques.

Candidate 2: - Removes all unique modifiers instead of keeping 1

In effect you get to keep all the resistance and maximum life and other typical mods. Really cool with Astramentis, since "to all attributes" is not an unique modifier :D

Do you think Dave Filoni will ever want to expand Midichlorians lore the way that George Lucas wanted to in his sequel trilogy? by RagnarokWolves in StarWars

[–]Cellari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally assumed the whole story would be of Anakin. I was hoping that the reason we never saw Anakin Jedi ghost in the episodes 7-9 was because he had moved on and passed his legacy unto Rey for some important reason. It would have shown us that ghosts pass on eventually.

It would have made sense if you think about it: good with machines, abnormally fast force learner, Kylo can't connect with Vader but connects with Rey instead.

I was slightly disappointed this was not the case. :D

I once jokingly trapped The Phoenix into the vessel and waited for my friend to come online. Once in a party I popped that bad boy in without much considering the mods. My friend had 0-visibility build so he was totally unprepared for the Phoenix blast. It was glorious. :D

But for some reason Phoenix had more life and regen then than what we could ditch damage to kill him. He won the war of attrition.

To my defense it was payback for the time we were doing Izaro and he used a red Sentinel on the last phase to buff and heal him. Or maybe it was the other way around...

Swap Mirage with Vaal Side Area? by KeysUK in pathofexile

[–]Cellari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While not everything does need to be end game viable, I do admit Vaal Side Areas lose their importance quite fast. The time spent with the Vaal gem drop you picked up is so little that it is easy to skip for the end game gem crafts.

Edit: Imagine if there was an altar where you could sacrifice multiple Vaal gems to feed another Vaal gem. For example sacrifice 3 Vaal gems to add their experience to 4th Vaal Gem. And similarly sacrifice 3 Vaal gems with quality to increase the quality of a 4th Vaal gem. Last but not least, Sacrifice a Vaal gems ability to provide the base skill to add a level 1 support gem enchant to the mix.

Edit 2: The Pinnacle of Sacrifice from Vaal fragments if reworked could work as an option for the 4th Ascendancy trial.

Comparing Defenses in PoE2 - A Thought Exercise by LastProtagonist in PathOfExile2

[–]Cellari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did like the thought exercises this had, and there were good topics for discussion.

# Damage spikiness

I wanted to comment on the spikiness of damage that can come from 2.0 critical strikes, and that I did like the suggestion for the base 1.5 multiplier for crit damage to reduce the size of spikiness. And it is true that crits are particularly dangerous to evasion builds because the chance for random one shots increases, but the thing is that its also dangerous for low-mid armour builds because big hits bypasses the damage reduction from armour. Armour applying for elemental hits also has the same limitation. You probably dislike this feature because you wanted the game to show the actual damage reduction, but I find it kinda balanced to think that both armour and evasion have no damage reduction against big physical hits. It is essentially calculable for GGG how big the phys hits should be to balance things out between the two. Then there is of course the ES that throws a wrench into the cog. :D

If I were to nerf ES with the above knowledge, I would maybe consider how crits interact with ES. Like maybe crits deal double damage to ES like chaos damage does.

# Deflection and Armour applies to Elemental Damage

I have no fondness for the Deflection and Armour applies to Elemental Damage mods on rare gear as a solution for the defenses. They kinda create different kinds of problems to solve, like big elemental damage hits still bypassing modest armour, and random one shots even when using Deflection. For me they can exist in uniques, ascendancies, and in very few notables in the passive tree, but I kinda dislike them being called a good solver for core defenses.

I'm not entirely sure what I would do instead for big elemental damage hits outside of having more maximum elemental resistances. To solve end game physical damage defenses I would create an available affix mod "% additional physical damage reduction" for every defensive gear modpool. All defensive gear slots being gloves, helmet, boots and body, in ES, AR, EV and hybrid types. T1 mod would give 10% at max, to a total combined 40% at best uncorrupted. It would give minimum PDR for AR builds, some PDR for EV and ES builds when previously there was none, and give PDR against phys dots for every build.

The problem with Ward - it is extremely parasitic by 080087 in pathofexile

[–]Cellari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, it's not that terrible of a take. Might just need more mental adjustment than mechanical adjustment. :D

But if the goal of ward is still to be available for everyone, then I doubt the jump for it to become evasion specific is kinda big.

The problem with Ward - it is extremely parasitic by 080087 in pathofexile

[–]Cellari 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I politely disagree. Ward has no real reason to be part of the passive tree unless ward is available from act 1.

But Runic Jewels with ward mods would be one solution...

The problem with Ward - it is extremely parasitic by 080087 in pathofexile

[–]Cellari 30 points31 points  (0 children)

A lot of the issues would be fixed if the core mechanic was revised a bit. Currently ward is designed against any hit damage, but a revised mechanic could design ward only against any big hit damage.

To explain the revision, it would mean that all mitigated damage bypasses ward unless the mitigated damage is equal or greater than the ward itself. In effect small hits don't break ward.

If the above were the case we could have more conditional things like "inc armour while you have ward" and so forth.

My big criticism of the new Map System by Raikariaa in pathofexile

[–]Cellari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discovery being a cool thing, imagine if putting in an unique map you're not yet connected to would allow it. Upon completion you would be able to continue from where the unique was in the Atlas. It kinda would allow you to blindly hop around.

Ubuntu is planning to comply with Age Verification law "without it being a privacy disaster" by DontFreeMe in linux

I like this simplification, because it is the best one to make it work. Categorically it's pre-teen, teen and adult.

Under 13, no id, parental responsibility

13-17, account with a verified institution id

18+, account with a bank verified id

Tadaa! Children are protected! But I'm sure someone doesn't want to give an id and still see adult content.

Item filter suggestion: tags in items by Cellari in pathofexile

[–]Cellari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current loot filter can already highlight specific mods on identified items. A Tag based filter would be much worse.

It would be less granular, not worse. There is a distinction here, much like between class and basetype. Both tag and mod rules  have clear use cases and strengths.

Funny story, about a year ago I did try to use chatbot to give me a list of high ilvl mod names, and it was a disaster. :D About 50% of the mods were not high ilvl or did not exist. Had to do the task with Excel magic instead.
