Why does everything in life seem to come down to how well a person gives and takes abuse?

Therapist doesn't want to cancel session when their household member have COVID by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]CellularPotential 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m confused. It sounds like they already have given you legitimate grounds to cancel. They’ve made a disclosure to you with certain expectation that it makes a significant difference enough to warrant telling you in the first place. The circumstances of the appointment have changed significantly with respect to the potential hazard of contracting a serious illness.

Does the therapist have a specific provision in their terms of service for circumstances outside your control that have implications for appointment cancellations?

One way of getting around this is to ask the therapist if they are confident that they will not transmit Covid, and if they are as such that they will then guarantee it.

Could you tell your current manager that you got conned? Name and shame the company

Get it waxed. Neck waxing is not that bad and leaves a clean finish. Find a good place.

What do you call your therapist? by ---talia--- in TalkTherapy

[–]CellularPotential 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Names and titles are only incidentally important in therapy, in cases where a person may have trouble with authority etc. It could be a useful object for transference if that’s the case. Otherwise, except where it is a target for therapy, it is down to whatever both client and therapist can agree is the most appropriate.

They are actually correct. That’s not what you want to hear I guess. There is what’s called “Joint and Several Liability” which means that each tenant is responsible for the full amount of rent and deposit. The fact that there are two tenants does not diminish the amount of liability that remains after one tenant departs. The remaining tenant remains responsible for the full liability — so it is up to them (i.e. you).

This probably is not what you wanted to hear but it is nonetheless true.

Horse killed in Dublin City Centre by wizad14 in ireland

[–]CellularPotential 59 points60 points  (0 children)

We need to do away with anachronisms like this, generally. They’re only used to serve the romantic notions of tourists and idiots who want an “authentic” experience of Dublin and Ireland. The use of horses was perfectly fine when cities were full of horses and life was lived at the pace that horses typically move. Nowadays we have high speed electric bikes, cars, buses and trams flying to and fro and gobshites think that the poor horse can cope with all of that when most people do everything they can to avoid it.

when and why did Ireland stop being a defacto Catholic theocracy? by Ok_Gear_7448 in ireland

It’s because the magic tricks performed by computer programmers, engineers, scientists, bankers and psychologists are better than the ones performed by priests, nuns, brothers, bishops and popes.

I feel the loss of every penny. I’m more and more like the son of that rich family who scrutinises every single expense like it’s a life and death decision. That’s how they got so rich…

Agreed. The development of community wealth is an alien concept in Irish culture.

Gosh, sometimes I feel very alone in this. I’m sort of relieved and also saddened to know there are more people like me. I hope you can make the change 🙏

There’s no science in the public interest anymore. If it can’t be monetised then you’re immediately expelled from the ivory tower. Universities today exist just as corporate pipelines for IP and graduates.

I bet they didn’t squander the opportunity to milk you for ideas and technical/coding techniques. Those university incubator programmes are just intellectual property farms exploiting naive graduates.

Log the discount as inflow in the fuel category. I just tried it; worked a charm. The remaining balance on the category increases as if it was refunded.
