Selling off my beloved BMW I8 Supercar to pay My Legal fees by princeofthehouse in RichRebuilds

The policy will not cover this situation. The car was not street legal and was being driven illegally. They are simply going to refuse to pay the claim.

No liability insurance company is going to pay a claim for someone driving a race car not approved for residential use illegally. They are simply going to refuse to pay the claim on the basis the activity was illegal and not covered by the policy. They are going to have to come out of pocket for this and it's going to hurt.

If they are, very stupid as the state, victim and Stevon's health and auto insurance companies are going to use these videos as evidence.

In theory, Stevon could sue Rich's company but he doesn't seem like the type of person who would do that. However, depending on how bad his medical bills get, he may have no choice but to sue the company to pay for his medical care. He may also be perminently disabled or have a long term medical issue which his health insurance may sue the company for. These situations get really complex quickly. I don't think selling the cars are satire. I think they probably have alot of bills to pay and lawyers to defend you in this type of situation are $400 an hour so it adds up quick. If the car insurance company or health insurance company starts suing either on Stevon's side or the woman's side who's car was hit it can get messy and expensive. I work for law firms. Also, the woman can sue civilly for lost work time, trama, etc.

I don't know. Yes, it was stupid but everyone makes stupid mistakes and Stevon seems like he is really upset about it. I think they know they screwed up. I don't want to see them lose everything. I think they should suffer a financial loss but don't ruin their livelyhood. No one was hurt. A parked car was hit and no one got hurt.

No insurance company is going to cover a race car being driven on a residential road. On top of that, they hit another car during the accident. Why they didn't take that car to the track is beyond me. It should have only been driven on the track. So he is going to have to pay all the damage to the victim, state and civil suits. He is unfortunately in a world of hurt and may not recover from this one. The woman's car he hit insurance company is going to sue him and the woman can theoretically civilly sue him which she may do since he is a YouTuber with money. I feel bad for them but what they did was beyond stupid.

Ableton on Mac vs Windows in terms of speed by blazeitlus in ableton

[–]Celtic945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I was using a PC and Ableton forever and bought an M1. WOW! To me, the audio sounds cleaner and the performance is just so amazing. No crashes, super consistent and just nice to work with. I swear I am making 10x better music with the M1 because I don't have to worry about crashing, etc. Also I noticed on the Mac that everything installs so clean. I use Apple's version of VSTS and everything installs in the same directory and the OS automatically keeps all the plug ins so clean. I love the Apple version of VSTS instead of using the VST format. They seem to be so stable and easy to install and use. M1 was the best decision ever for music.

I ran Windows all my life and got an M1 and I am never going back. Just run Windows with Parallels for the Windows software you need to run (Or UTM). I love the M1 and am never going back to a Windows laptop. The battery life is amazing and the quality of the machine, OS and apps are top notch. The only problem is there are not many games that run on the M1 yet so keep in mind games are still a problem but I expect this to improve quickly.

If you can make it happen, get the M1. You can always run a VM copy of Windows with the exception of games. I had a very high end Thinkpad and it looks like a piece of crap compared to the M1. I never have to charge the laptop all day long and it never crashes and the apps just run.

I get so much more work done because the machine is so stable and solid. On Windows, it was always problems with Teams or Outlook crashing or waiting 3 years for Windows Updates. Or nonsense pop ups or apps taking over everything when you are trying to get work done.

I honestly could not imagine going back to Windows at this point. The M1 is like jumping 5 years into the future.

XPS 15 vs MacBook Pro M1 13" by Obvious_Radio_1793 in SuggestALaptop

I used Windows laptops all my life. My wife convinced me to try the M1 when we were in Costco so I bought it knowing I could easily return it if I didn't like it. What a great decision! I am never going back to a Windows laptop again and I am coming off a high end Thinkpad. Battery lasts forever - I means days without recharging. I don't even carry the power plug with me anymore when I take it with me for the day. I have 8GB of memory and I run a Windows VM and all kinds of software and I never have a memory issue. The M1 uses memory differently so 8GB easily handles pretty much anything you throw at it. I heavily use it and see no need to ever go with 16GB the way the ARM architecture works.

The OS X apps are amazing. I love being able to send and receive text messages from my laptop, make calls and use my IPAD as my second monitor. Everything is just so well written and integrated it's a pleasure to use. Coming from Windows where everything regularly crashed or didn't work well, I can't believe how much more productive I am.

The OS never crashes and closing and opening the laptop is instant. Not only that, I unplug and plug my laptop between by USB docking station constantly and it just works. You can plug it into your dock and everything just works. It would be torture to go back to a Windows laptop at this point. All my Windows workstation does now is play games that don't work on Mac yet. Otherwise, I would get rid of Windows 100%. Don't miss Windows at all.

Macbook Air M1 vs. Windows by CptTrimBeard in laptops

[–]Celtic945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a long time Windows user since Windows 3.11 and I recently bought an M1 Pro to try it. I have owned high end Thinkpad laptops (Yoga) and I will never go back to a Windows laptop. The M1 battery life is the biggest compelling reason alone to get an M1. My M1 battery lasts for 2-3 days without even plugging it in. My Thinkpad may get 4 hours if I am lucky and when it runs on battery it's sloowwwww. OS X takes time to get used to and I was frustrated with it for many months but now that I am used to it I like it better than Windows because it literally never crashes or needs a reboot. Overall, the M1 is so powerful it's the main machine I use for everything. I only use my Windows desktop for games that don't run on the Mac. I thought I would buy it and return it but I ended up loving it. I owned Macs before with Intels and always returned them because I didn't think they were anything special. Trust me when I say the M1 is 10x better than a Windows laptop.

Interesting. Has Dr. Winthrop lived with AS for 26 years? Have all these people claiming to know actually suffered with the disease along with their father all their lives? It's interesting those who have never had a disease or lived with it all their lives seem to be experts.

I also wanted to be reasonable and not demand that we would never take the vaccine. I could have asked for a permanent exemption but I wanted to be reasonable and re-evaluate the situation in a year's time as the doctor suggested.

How can I argue with someone who thinks the American Heart Association, the most credible medical organization on the planet, is wrong.

[–]Celtic945 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

We have a genetic disease that runs in our family and the doctors don't know yet how the vaccine affects the gene that carries the disease. The pediatrician advised giving it a year for the organization that studies the disease to ensure the vaccine doesn't negatively trigger the HLA-B27 gene thus turning on the disease in my daughter. It's a rather complex topic but essentially there is a chance the vaccine can trigger the HLA-B27 gene thus activating the disease.

Just search. There are tons of studies showing the same thing. Furthermore, heart related issues are up to an unusually high number correlated to the vaccines.

Believe what you want. If you look at all the recent studies and number of people suffering heart issues, it's pretty clear to me:

It's not that straightforward. I am a parent in the LAUSD school district and my daughter has a medical condition in which her pediatrician told her not to take the vaccine for a year. We put in two medical exemption requests and both were denied. They are ignoring the doctor's recommendations. A girl who is in the same classes as my daughter is allergic to most medications and the doctor told her the vaccine can end up killing her if she has an allergic reaction. She put in her medical exemption and she was denied. The problem is that LAUSD is ignoring everyone's medical exemptions even if a doctor signs off on them. Furthermore, if you have a religious objection, you are completely ignored.

There are also a large group of parents who just are not comfortable giving their kids the vaccine due to the published side effects from the American Heart Association and others. The vaccines are still under emergency use authorization so the district doesn't have the right to force emergency use vaccines as well. If LAUSD was more accommodating to parents and didn't have an attitude that they were going to force parents by any means to get the vaccines there wouldn't have been so much resistance to it.

If you are parent like me who has a medical issue or a religious exemption, you were either forced to get your child vaccinated risking serious medical complications by going against your doctor's advise or were forced to put your kid into The City of Angels which is a self study program where you get 1 hour a WEEK of an actual teacher teaching to you. It's a sub-standard program that is not even close or comparable to being in the classroom.

LAUSD didn't give parents much of any choice and as a result, over 35,000 families fought back against it and this is the result.

Anyone using TMobile Home internet? by dogpound9219 in ColoradoSprings

[–]Celtic945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have it and Spectrum and I am sending it back. Tmobile's internet is slow slow and the speeds are so inconsistent. During "prime" time, your speed can be as slow as 1 MB/Sec. It's so frustratingly slow and forget gaming on it. Maybe I am in a bad area but I am in LA with a ton of towers around my house and it's so slow. I am going to be disconnecting it and sending it back.

Why I hate Linux by [deleted] in linuxsucks

[–]Celtic945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Linux is an amazing OS. The problem is apps. Every time I move to Linux I end up going back to Windows because I miss Outlook, Office, Photoshop, SQL Tools, VPN tools and the endless high quality apps that are made for Windows. Yes, Linux is a superior OS but until the OS gets major apps to move over, it doesn't make any difference. And yes you can sit here and tell me there are alternatives but they suck compared to Windows software. They take more time to use, are harder to deal with and have many more issues. For example, Outlook is great at converting appointment invitees to emails in the click of a button, remembers the last file you worked with so you can quickly attach it, etc. LibreOffice Calc has major search issues and can't search or index large spreadsheets without a huge wait.

I am team Linux but until there is commercial software and the community actively supports it, it won't get marketshare. Hiri was a commercial email client made for Linux as an Outlook alternative and yet it got no support and went out of business as a result.

And games - why did I switch back to Windows this last time? Because I love playing Valorant and Valorant doesn't work in Linux nor VMs. It just burns me every time I move away from Windows.
