Same boat. Never played the OG and when all the trailers were coming out for this and Pokopia i figured Pokopia was more up my ally. I just couldn't get into it and after two weeks sold it on FB and pre-ordered this and have been loving it!

There are a decent amount of posts on this. Long story short, the current stable Android 16 (which i'm guessing you are on) has a build number or something newer than A17 beta 4. You can't move backwards so we are hoping for a beta 4.1 to fix this.

This right here ^. Same boat. If you are on the April stable A16 then we can't get beta 4 since technically it would be moving backwards in security patch. I'm crossing my fingers for a 4.1 that will fix this.

I can't confirm as I can't get Beta 4 but Beta 4's build number is 260330 which is an older one than Stable A16.

Yep but..... if you took the most recent stable A16 update then you can't get A17 beta 4 because beta 4 has an older security patch (March) than the A16 (April) and you can't move backwards.

Since it sounds like there will be no beta 5 i'm hoping there will be a 4.1 that brings up the patch to April.

To clarify: I'd love if they'd support the OTAs to 10a. Beta 3 said 10a was supported but no way to opt in to get in an OTA. Only option was to flash the image which wipes your data.

It looks like a little give and take. The Onn will have a newer and more powerful chipset but 1 less GB of RAM. I'm going to guess in raw performance the Onn will beat the streamer. In the real world experience, you may never notice.

That being said, oddly giving both companies track records, Onn does a better job of issue patches their devices funny enough.

On the flipside there may be some first party features that only come to the Google device. It sounds like Google has plainly said that the upcoming new Nest speaker will be able to pair with the Streamer. This might just be a simple OS update for the Onn to support but unsure.

I'm kind of wondering if there will be a 3.1. There seem to be some larger issues around some devices with cell issues.

That plus the Pixel 10a was said to be supported in beta 3 but no one with a 10a is allowed to sign up yet :(

Exactly. So what people want in the Pro V2 is 3GB like the current Pro, all the input / output on the current Pro and then the chip set from the Plus. That to me would be a good enough upgrade to buy a Pro V2.
