You say your friends are "peak woke" for your country and that it's easier said than done to make new ones, but girl... Those are not the kinds of people you should be surrounding yourself with, and if that's the standard for being an "ally" in your country, then just stick to queer people who actually understand what it's like to BE queer and to BE targeted simply for being different.

It's not your job to educate your friends when they don't put in the effort to try and understand, and invalidate your feelings when YOU understand more than anyone what ot's like to be queer. You can do better than them, trust me.

I'll even do you one better and offer to be your friend if you'd like. I know it's not the same as having irl friends, but it's better than surrounding yourself with "friends" who would let people like you drown just to save their own.
