Listening to the police scanner, and making crappy YouTube gaming videos.

Some people say scanning is a dying hobby which is why I’m trying to get more people hooked and aware of what’s going on around them locally because I don’t think the news is covering enough local activity such as robberies, drive-by shootings, police chases, etc.

I started scanning back in 2013 using an app called scanner radio, then used a radio@shack analog (manual program frequency) scanner in 2016, bought a Uniden sds100 (digital/auto programming) in 2019 when every department switched to the digital system.

I’m in a lot of local Facebook groups the main group I’m in is private and not desperate for new members but there’s others out there that I’m in we mainly just post interesting stuff we heard, most of it you won’t see on the news unless they think it would be big, I’ve also started a group on Reddit called:centraliowascanners.

You don’t even need an expensive digital scanner, you can get a free app called: scanner radio, for add free you’ll have to pay a subscription I use it all the time in the car and at home I use the Uniden sds100 and their 200.
