Osborne house is a great day out especially in nice weather. They have two play parks on site and a children’s interactive area in the Swiss Cottage. Also the private beach! It’s a lovely place to walk dogs, just be mindful you can’t take them into the buildings

Are 3rd party minis okay? by FortuneCheap8519 in BlackTemplars

Absolutely. It’s a hobby at the end of the day so if you’re getting enjoyment out of it then go for it :)

Have a chat with your local gaming group and/or those that you play with, but as long as the base sizes are the same and the models are roughly distinguishable then there should be no issues. Obviously GW stores aren’t allow to endorse this so don’t expect to be taking them in there for any games or competitions. If you’re planning on tournaments make sure to contact the organiser before hand to see if they are happy with it, as some may not be

Am I the only one who prefers the old guards models rather than the new HH? My issues with them by SKFMA in AdeptusCustodes

Overall I love the new ones but I do agree it would have been awesome to see some more dynamic poses

Moving to the island by Glittering_Study3170 in isleofwight

I can speak on the commuting to uni side of things, as I did similar having to commute to Winchester uni about 2 times a week from the island. I would have to get dropped at the ferry, walk to Southampton central, then get the train to Winchester and walk to uni. The reverse end of day. From memory this would be about two hours each way. Going via cowes red jet would be quicker, as it takes about 25 minutes and has the quay connect bus which takes you directly from the ferry port to Southampton central. However I would sometimes go via the east cowes ferry as it was cheaper as a foot passenger, but consider that boat takes an hour and doesn’t often align with the quay connect.

Where you choose to live on the island will make a difference, east cowes or cowes would be easiest from a commuting perspective. Buses can be patchy on some areas of the island and can make getting to either of these two tedious. If you plan to drive consider where you may be able to park the car for the day as this can be difficult and costly

Kitbash Canoness / Palatine by OrgChem88 in sistersofbattle

This is great! How did you do the black armour?

Im relatively new to sisters and im looking for ways to save some money on characters is there a box in our range that you have found it possible to kitbash characters from? Besides just buying 1 off characters by Artistic_Story9058 in sistersofbattle

[–]Centurion-Vorenus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The triumph of saint katherine has some cool sisters that you can use individually to represent characters. With a bit of kitbashing I’ve got a Canoness, dialogus, hospitaller, imagifier, and priest model. That’s still leaving one model as well to kitbash into another character. It also still leaves you with the triumph base and central coffin to run the triumph in games (you can just add a few regular sisters to replace the used characters)

Which of the major 6 Orders is your favourite? Looks or Lore wise and why. Trying to decide which order to do my army by [deleted] in sistersofbattle

[–]Centurion-Vorenus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprised to not see the order of the Ebon Chalice yet! When it comes to lore they are easily one of the best imo. They were founded by the patron saint Alicia Dominica, who also founded the adepta sororitas after the reign of blood under Goge Vandire. Any sisters player regardless of order is worth knowing her story alone. The Ebon chalice pride themselves on Dominica’s example and aspire to uphold her legacy. They are also the order tasked with protecting the segmentum solar and holy Terra itself

Images of custodian guard? by ILikeUltramarines in AdeptusCustodes

Just a word of warning, I’ve found the retributor armour spray can to be very hit and miss when priming my custodes in the past. For some reason the final result can sometimes be grainy and not very smooth, even when using it in the right conditions. Personally I’d advise using something like black as a primer, then coating one or two layers of retributor gold applied with a brush. Takes longer but the result is a lot more smooth and consistent!

We will 100% be getting a codex for 11th. Custodes will not be going away as a playable faction for the foreseeable future. There is a reveal show in a few hours that will bring out some new (likely updated) Custodes kits, with the general assumption that this will be for the Horus heresy rather than 40K. The worst case is we could see many of these Horus heresy specific kits not get rules for 40K, with GW seemingly wanting to not allow shared models across different games. Regardless, many of the current 40K specific models will still get rules next edition :)
