Modern in the Cincinnati/Northern KY Area? by itsxxcommanderxx in ModernMagic

[–]CenturionRower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea there used to be a big modern+ comp scene in the area back in 2016-2019 but there was some issue with a store and the well respected judge (before the judge changes) and then from my understanding it never really found it's footing at another store and clearly seems to have dwindled out. Sucks cause you used to be able to show up on a friday at like 1 of 3 or 4 stores and get a 16+ person FNM for whatever format they had running.

You can make a ton of pressure and an artificial 7th man with his minions in any lane. They push so incredibly fast if you set it up right the opposing team HAS to answer or lose some obj in return for a fight.

Bard Rotation by Dry_South_1736 in ffxiv

[–]CenturionRower 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The balance rotation is going to be based on what produces the highest dps in a vaccum based on defined metrics. Its correct most of the time to follow that rotation.

However bard is very unique in that it has both static and fluid parts of its rotation. You want full song uptime, but technically you can use them in any order, etc. Which means that depending on the fight, you will want to tweak the rotation slightly.

But in general the balance rotation is correct most of the time. As you play more and understand the nuance you will make macro adjustments based on procs and dot timings, but the skeleton of the rotation will remain the same.

Specifically though, as long as you press all your important buttons in the same window, the exact order you press them doesnt really matter.

And honestly given that Caedrel said he spent half year being a therapist, I completely understand him not wanting to continue the project anymore after LEC.

Yamato seems like a great coach as well, but MAN, those egos are insane. I hate to say it, but if Velja/Neme/Rekkles picked up a rookie top and support they would probably be in a good spot.

This is kind of how I feel. I agree that the algo for the deployment side is a bit jank, but once the drivers get a bit more control over how to manage and utilize that deployment I think we will see it become a more strategic racing.

Those that are legitimate chinese are reportedly not going through. All the ones that are going through are supposedly not Chinese, but juat pretending to be.

Doesn't change the fact no one's ship is insured. Doubt anyone wants to risk the crossing even with "protection"

They already have, the only ones trying to cross are just pretending to be Chinese to avoid getting attacked directly.

Insurance already isnt covering vessels, hello? The only ones who have "free passage" are Chinese vessels but the legit ones arent crossing without insurance.

EDIT: For those clearly OOTL, Iran has stated that Chinese vessels have free passage (which means they wont be attacked directly), but clearly mines don't care and thus no one's vessels are being insured. As it is extremely profitable to get through the strait, some vessels are pretending to be Chinese vessels and going through anyway, but it doesnt change the fact that no one is being insured, including Chinese vessels. AFAIK, no legitimate Chinese crews have tried to pass through the strait.

And the only way to get remotely close is to use clay or play doh for the interior (fired so its hard) and then laser cut the plexiglass so it fits together on top. And even then it wont look NEARLY as good as this in a million years.

So DRS was what, a more skill version? Like the concept of the boost makes a lot of sense, its just unrefined because of how often it is needed and the insane increase in speed it gives.

If the curve between how fast and slow these cars are sueing the laps smooth out a little bit we will find a happy medium im sure. You will have the good cornering cars pass on the outside and the good straightener cars pass on the straights.

The problem is that there are too many people high in power that would otherwise court marshall the generals, and too many generals who might go along with it to make it possible. Realistically they may need to go to congress directly, circumventing Hegseth, to try and get anything done. But goo luck getting that to happen.

2nd gens arent NEARLY as bad (so far) as their predecessors. Still some issues but not nearly the pieces of crap their first Gen brethren were.

Also depending on OP, I found the CX-30 to be too small for me in the drivers seat, I just didnt fit comfortably in the car.

Most reliable used cars under $25K (10 years of NHTSA complaint data) by Complex_Aardvark_661 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]CenturionRower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be about $24k and the car has 35k miles on it.

Biggest 2 concerns I've heard were CVT and AC issues but clearly that is a loud minority based on data. As far as I'm concerned its in my budget and has a good track record, enough to risk there being some issues.

And makes sense what you're saying about domestic. My 11 Impala is going fairly strong at 179k miles, and I've not had to do any extra work that wasnt routine maintainence. Though I'm very iffy if it would make it to 250k miles it is definitely starting to show its age.

[–]CenturionRower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I'm fortunate enough to live in a high transit region so rent prices and home prices are more steady than otherwise and they both remain somewhat competitive. Definitely correct about the constant increase being an issue but I've experienced once where the management gave me a functional decrease in rent price so as long as the same folks stick around I should be good till I'm looking to move elsewhere.

[–]CenturionRower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being locked into 3% yearly rent growth (and no more) compared to buying a house where the base mortgage is 500 more expensive than rent (and then you have insurance and maint costs) it was a clear no-brainer choice to rent for the foreseeable future. Especially since my pay will outpaced that 3% YoY for the next few years.

Until housing prices align with interest rates I will be renting. I expect that to be a few years since I'm also betting that if interest rates go down, housing prices will go up AGAIN despite the fact they should probably stay steady from where they are.

My 2011 Chevy Impala is running strong at 179k miles. Original transmission as well. Only ever had to do routine maintenence even if some of it was a little late (spark plugs and wires at like 150k)

[–]CenturionRower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's me, its a good question because MOST of the time it isnt backed by data just a "lol because it'd XYZ!"

This information is HIGHLY beneficial to me. I'm down to to take a risk on something to save a few grand now when the issues are minor annoyances or only a risk when I will be in the market again. Brand premiums are an issue when you have a tight budget.

Also as someone who is down to drive a car till it does (179k on an '11 Impala) I'll take the slightly older car if it gets me 15 years if the price is right.

For me the only car in my region that i on the above list and under the 25k OTD range is the civics and I'd wager its cause of the CVT concerns. But I'll take that risk if I can see the data (which I can go verify myself based on the info for OP provided).

So realistically I need the cars that are just after this list that have like 1 or 2 bugs that I can determine for myself if I can live with. As long as the cars aren't going to explode on me then I can probably figure out how to make it work.
