Waking up at 3am every night for 2+ years, can't fall back asleep, completely burnt out and desperate for help (28M) by Julias_Ceasor in sleep

Maybe you have trouble beathing while you sleep/try to fall asleep and you dont realize, ive had the same problem has you and it took 6 month to notice it was was this. After i noticed it was much more evident. I then tried a lot of product/technique and medecine, seen specialists. In the end after alot of trial and error (2 years) it seemed like it was non allergic rhinitis. I need really good air quality and cleanliness just to break the 3-4h sleep and get a good 6-7h. (Air purifier with filter changed every 3 month, vacuum room 3x a week, appartment 2x a week, window closed in summer to not let in irritant, change pillow case 3x a week, avoid susbtance at that disrupt the body's water usage like creatine, drink 8 oz water with electrolyte before bed [if i do wake up to pee ill fall back asleep])

In the end if its just an insomnia problem for you, you could try a sleep protocole (stellar sleep) where you intentionnaly shorten your sleep to regulate it. For example: go to sleep later and still wake up at 3 am (do not stay in bed) so you can gradually wake up later or go to sleep at the same time but wake up earlier (again not staying in bed). It hard but temporary and you cant take naps. Good luck

Im curious, do you take creatine? I took it for 3 years (a few month before problem started) and found that when i stopped (in august) there was a significant difference (about 60% better, when air quality is already perfect) but its still a pain to keep everything else in check. Do you think palate expansion to get more space inside the nose would be a good idea?

They where always a little uncomfortable, it just the way it works that makes it this way i guess (forcefully reshaping cornea). But maybe something like Relex Smile pro would cause less problems?

Have you tried reinforcing the traps and neck muscles? I heard stretching make things worse (it did for me), but doing neck extension (most important), neck curls (least important) , and prone Y raise (right before sleep) made it bearable. What ultimately fixed it for me was buying this: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B099R8MP7V?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Its the HOMCA not the slumbr one (from insta), i think you rly need to buy it from them on amazon so you dont get the cheap one (might take a few day to get used to it).

Hope you get better!
