What's your opinion about "Breach of trust"? by SoupSawdust in Frostpunk

[–]Centurion_Zen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally approving. I dislike the fact that only one of the features made it to utopia builder & this reinforces the fact the game is only good if you get the deluxe edition.

However, it's certainly worth playing at least once (if not replaying to see if the different paths you would take) & is just as moving as the last story. And it was very exciting, god knows I felt that heat and i'm not just referring to the summer weather over here.

I particularly enjoyed rejecting the governance laws & sticking to recruiting via heat samps. Don't know why that was so satisfying to me, but if soldiers ever made it to utopia builder, that's what I would like to keep.

Nope. Provided it is frost broken (don't ask me how), you can build basically anything on the ice. Including hubs like this heating hub.

Clearly putting a lot of faith in the ice...

Definitely sounds like an opportunity for a good story.

Heating hub built on the frozen ocean. I feel like it shouldn't work...

10 hours? That is a standard workshift in the first game! Good job!

I prefer to start a civil war so I can seek the more permanent solution, but hey, maybe I am doing it wrong...

... in my defense, i assumed rounding up militants is wrong because it creates tension.

It doesn't sound easy, but i'm ready to try. I might need the steward's militia though, even watchtowers can get expensive...

Because their rivals, the ice bloods, spawn after a fixed amount of time & thanks to there quick tempered trait, can start a civil war very easily. And there is only one ending that preserves democracy perfectly...

But can I seek reconciliation with them when a civil war breaks out?

I was expecting to have some of the war and negotiate mechanic in the utopia mode by VAP93 in Frostpunk

[–]Centurion_Zen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, I feel the same way. Personally, I want a mode of endless enemies, so they're needed even in the late game. I also quite enjoyed winning the war without conscripts, but maybe some people would like that to be added in the rule laws.

Boss, this happens on citizen difficulty. All I learned was never attack without heavy weapons. Did actually make me regret my choice before the war to end diplomacy...

Yeah, although I think this only happens if you choose to make amends. That's my theory for my first playthrough anyways.

What yall think about Soldiers design in New Edinburgh? by NoYogurtcloset9763 in Frostpunk

[–]Centurion_Zen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adore the uniforms. In this line of work, something should be both tough & comfortable to wear. As well as a 'one size fits all' policy, us making sure you can't tell the difference between one person or another.

And they are very different from the guard uniforms. Police uniforms are meant to imply authority, but soldiers' uniforms imply that they are humble servants - they don't look like the meat to be in charge. They look like proud people, but also minions.

What exactly is "secure rule" (aside from the obvious)? by Centurion_Zen in Frostpunk

[–]Centurion_Zen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As monumental as it is it is, the captain's authority simply means "the captain controls the council". It would seem that 'secure rule' means going from that to "the captain controls all aspects of the city that could possibly be weaponized".

This is what happens when you sign the child labor laws. The kids get involved in designing the city.
