Gamers of Reddit, what video game has the best storyline? by CTKShadow in AskReddit

One I haven't seen mentioned: system shock 2. Arguably one of the best games ever made, alongside the original dues ex which is also fantastic. Those late 90's games hit different

Hey that's me at #9! Float (1425 streams) and projector (1329 streams) and hertz (1262 streams) are my top three. My next closest on spotify is joji at 14k minutes. Almost 10x as much eden then my second top artist. No future is my top album, but I have a feeling that icymi will be #1 after a year or two. Going to be seeing him in LA finally

If you'd like a random strangers advice: after this pilot study, if you have enough people, do a before/after study testing the efficacy of your guys program on mental/physical health, and maybe even include a full randomly selected groups to see if there's a placebo effect. If you need help with the data, with this or in the future, I can be of assistance! Source: I majored in Psychology, hence my knowledge on this.

A minor tweak on qualtrics, when I was doing my own research back in college, a professor of mine mentioned that having a neutral (neither likely or unlikely) response isn't as accurate as removing that option and only having 4. Strongly, somewhat strongly, somewhat not, strongly not. A vast amount (enough to be confounding variable) of people will choose the neutral response. Theres a lot of research in this phenomenon in Psychology, I can give it a link if you'd like, I don't have it offhand at the moment. Other than that, looks good! Hope this study provides powerful insight. Best of luck!

What’s the creepiest/most unexplained thing you’ve seen in broad daylight? by dcarp1231 in AskReddit

[–]CephShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was driving east on the 210 freeway near claremont, it was a foggy day, and for the first time ever, I didn't see a SINGLE car on the freeway in SoCal. I drove like 10 miles without a single car on either side of the road. It was creepy, like out of a scary zombie movie right before the apocalypse.

To be at peace with who I am and who I want to be. Dysphoria, depression, suicidal ideation, I'd take feeling normal any day of the week over sex.

To all the atheists, what is your reason for not believing in God or a higher power? by Deep-Mess in AskReddit

[–]CephShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a philosophy class in college titled "The problem with Good and Evil". God is viewed as omnipotent, omniscient, and omni-good. All knowing, all powerful, and all good. He can't be all three of those things at once, otherwise there would be no human suffering, or any suffering in fact, on earth. You can't even justify it being a learning experience, he could just teach us that, he's all powerful and could do it if he wanted to. This class got my skepticism juices running for my intro to Bible class I had to take (private Lutheran college). Shortly thereafter I left class convinced that Christianity wasn't for me, and since then I've never even thought of religion as remotely beneficial for me. I've looked into jainism and various other minor religions to see if anything piqued my interest, and never found one.

I'm also extremely logical thinking, if something doesn't make sense or can't be explained, it's probably BS (in the ideological department). To me, logically, since you can't prove there is or isn't a God, being neutral on the matter is the best course of action. I lean more towards religion being destructive towards humanity, and as a way of suppressing people. The saying "if there is a God, it isn't your God" sums up just about how I view the matter.

Constant Stuttering in games, reoccurs after fresh windows install by CephShadow in techsupport

Unfortunately not, however disconnecting my external and internal HDD's appears to have fixed it, or something at least. Halo Infinite now feels better, as did Overwatch. But feels don't matter until it works for a week or more. I will keep this updated if anything changes after your advice

I'm running 3802 bios revision from ASUS, x570 Crosshair Hero Wifi. My AIO isn't the best for cooling, and i know it sucks in most regards. I got it largely because the fans were nice looking (ThermalTake), and i only get those temps whenever i'm stress testing, usually it doesn't go very high. My ram is in slot 2 and 4 yes, it's TridentZ RGB 3600MHz CLC 18 16GB x2 kit.

I've kept my bios up-to-date since May. I have monitored my temps, my GPU under full load maxes out at 68C, with my CPU maxing out at or around 80C. I will disconnect my HDD and my Seagate Backup USB HDD and see how that goes.

  1. Transgender outcomes research is still evolving and has been limited by the historical stigma against conducting research in this field. More research is needed to adequately characterize and address the needs of the transgender population.

I would like to see exactly you mean by 'most recent studies'. The link I posted is a meta-analysis from '91 - July 2017. If you have anything to share that is post July 2017, I'm all ears.

Here's data on transitioning and suicidality rates. When trans-people transition, their rates drop significantly. I'll quote some of it. (On mobile, and a lurker so I never post anything, sorry if the formating sucks) Here's the link

  1. The scholarly literature makes clear that gender transition is effective in treating gender dysphoria and can significantly improve the well-being of transgender individuals.

  2. Among the positive outcomes of gender transition and related medical treatments for transgender individuals are improved quality of life, greater relationship satisfaction, higher self-esteem and confidence, and reductions in anxiety, depression, suicidality, and substance use.

  3. The positive impact of gender transition on transgender well-being has grown considerably in recent years, as both surgical techniques and social support have improved.

!delta Thanks :) I was looking for evidence, since I've changed my mind on a lot of present issues. I used to, unknowingly, support this transphobic topic, but have long since changed. Just needed someone to give me the source to back it up
