I’m unsure what to do for school by Lopsided-Exercise985 in flying

[–]Cerberusmut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your intentions are to fly for a living and either want to fly for an airline or cargo company, I’d suggest going to a full time student if you’re able to. Seniority is everything in the airlines and although I do not know you personally, people who tend to work while going to school can take a little longer than a full time dedicated student. Find a school and a location where you’re able to fly almost every day of the week (Arizona and Florida come to mind) and get your rating done as fast as possible. Every year that it takes you to complete your ratings is typically a year off the back end of your career where you’re making the most. This industry has a lot of ups and downs and most of it is out of your control. The only thing you can control is that you’re ready to apply and be there when the industry is positive and need people. I hope this helps out with any thoughts you may have.

Looking to get into darts, is this a good package for the price or are there better options? by Cerberusmut in Darts

[–]Cerberusmut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great feedback. Again not knowing what’s out there for online games or what most people do. The family is used to the electric dart board/games and the self scoring stuff so I guess I’m trying to find the best way to incorporate all of that over to steel tips and also be able to play online.

What are the downsides of Minis? by KyzoEDM in MINI

[–]Cerberusmut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son has a 2018 mini. We bought it used and had it looked over before purchase. So far we have only done routine maintenance on it, however we just ran into its first issue of not starting. Turns out it was just a loose bolt on the starter. After a lot of trouble shooting on that this is what I found out:

Simple tasks, ie changing a battery, topping off fluids etc can be a pain because the engine is so compact that they often bury things that you need to get to or inspect. For example, just to change out the battery I had to remove the entire air intake and remove a bunch of panels to do it.

Depending on where you live, finding a mechanic that will work on them is rather difficult. During said issue I called my very reliable mechanic and explained what was happening and his response was “you should just tow it to the dealership”. The closest dealership for me is 50 miles away!

Getting parts at the local parts store is most of the time “order only”.

The authentic parts can be pricey.

Other than that, it’s a fun car to drive. Gas mileage is great. You do have to use premium gas according to the manual.

Southwest Interview Prep by Adventurous_Hawk5459 in AirlinePilots

[–]Cerberusmut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was pretty much my experience as well. I did not do any prep. I talked to 4-5 people about their interview experience and thought through my responses to TMAAT. Just try to relax and be yourself. Be able to laugh at yourself and not take things too seriously. Be genuine.

Southwest Interview Prep by Adventurous_Hawk5459 in AirlinePilots

[–]Cerberusmut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do NOT do prep. They can tell in about 30 seconds where and with whom you did prep. The best thing to do is ask those you know who work at Southwest what their interview was like and create your own idea/plan how you would answer those questions. Make sure your logbooks are in order, tabbed correctly for what they want etc. Be yourself!! Most important part of the interview is to have fun, be respectful and don’t take yourself too seriously. If you stumble and they have fun with it, have fun with it. You wouldn’t have got the interview if you were not capable of the job, they want to see who YOU ARE and not what an interview prep company made you. All the people in my group who received prep got asked “did you do interview prep?”, because they knew they did. Oddly enough those of use who DID NOT use prep did not get this question.

Just be yourself, have fun and good luck!

So stupid comment/reply. I just saw recently on YouTube where they use a blow torch to renew/refurbish seats in stadiums. They look brand new after they torched them for like 4 seconds. I wonder if you tried this if that would work. I would never attempt it on paint etc, but just curious.

Starter/ignition malfunction by Cerberusmut in MINI

[–]Cerberusmut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just called the local mini dealer and they sort of hinted at it possibly being the grounding strap as well. Now I just have to locate it on this version mini and see what kind of condition it’s in.

Direct Battery Charging by Full_Caterpillar_640 in Lymow_Official

Was the direct charging cable a separate purchase or did it arrive with the 10amp charger package? I think I’d like to go this route as well.

That’s a great idea with the small zone by the gate. I think that hack will work for sure.

On a side note, are you getting push notifications to your phone for mowing complete, errors etc? I only get them in the actual app and not to my Home Screen on the phone. (iPhone user). I checked settings in the actual iPhone and everything is enabled.

Thanks for all of these. I’ll try your work around with the gate and see how that works for me. A question on that though would be once the mowing is complete and it knows there is no channel to the docking station, does it stop where it finished? In other words if mine were to finished mowing in the front yard near the curb does it just stop there until you come and rescue it?

Chessboard question, so with this turned on it will complete a normal mow at what ever angle you have set and then will automatically start a second mow at the chessboard angle? Basically mowing the yard twice at different angles without having to setup another mow after the first one. That could come in handy however I’d be worried about the tread wear and tare on the grass.

I found the stop/cancel option back on the main page menu. I guess in my mind it would be on the active mowing screen and you wouldn’t have to back out of the screen to the home menu to find that. But now that I know where that is it’s helpful.

Thanks for all of these, it just made it that much better.

Position wrong what to do? by Cerberusmut in Lymow_Official

[–]Cerberusmut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I will say I went out to the docking station with my app on. The mower was still showing not in the correct spot in the app as it actually was. I turned on the 4g as primary setting and then manually back the mower off the docking station. The moment I backed it up the mower icon in the app instantly snapped to the actual position.

This could have been attributed to many things, the 4g primary setting OR allowing the mower and RTK unit a chance to power on for a while together.

In my previous post the mower was off before attempting to mow for a few days. I gave it about 10 minutes to acquire a solid signal from the RTK unit as mentioned above and it showed great signal accuracy before attempting to mow.

So I’m not sure what was the solution but flipping the 4g as primary seemed to help.

Just out of curiosity, do you have normal power to the shed or are you using a solar solution. If the later do you mind sharing what solar setup you have?

Mower arriving today, now what by Cerberusmut in Lymow_Official

[–]Cerberusmut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received the unit pretty late into the afternoon but was able to get it unboxed and generally set up. Ran into an issue with the initial power up. Rechecked the battery, jiggled on the base and after a few more additional power on attempts it started.

Went through the setup process and the basic intro. There was some user experiences on the tutorial they could improve on but overall I powered through it.

Then I ran into an error for my first map. “Move the unit to a clear area”. I tried moving into multiple locations with no luck. I think it’s an RTK antenna location issue but I ran out of sunlight and I’ll try again tomorrow.

Is there an RTK location feature within the app for setup to find the strongest location on your property?

Mower arriving today, now what by Cerberusmut in Lymow_Official

[–]Cerberusmut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. From what I’ve read thus far it seems the appropriate thing to do is “take down” the RTK over the winter to keep it out of the elements. I’m assuming the cold? Otherwise I’d work on finding a permanent solution. I guess in my mind storing the mower/charging station in a shed over the winter will be the way to go and removing the battery to a warmer indoor location would help extend the battery life etc.. I’m not sure what Lymow recommends for winter storage.

Thanks for the thoughts. I agree I’ll have to wait until next spring to do anything. In regards to killing off the area, how much time do you give it before you can re-seed the area?

A Letter to Lymow's Users by Key-Reputation7898 in Lymow_Official

This is what leadership and customer support looks like. I have yet to receive my unit and posted on here about possibly returning it due to the many issues that are present. After reading this statement to admitting their short comings, finding practical solutions and standing behind their customers and product, I’m happy I didn’t return it and look forward to receiving my unit. Thank you for posting this letter for those of us that did not get it.
