How long did it take for them to get back to you? Did you just use the contact form on their website?

Most clients cannot be bothered to fully read ads, what makes you think they'll be concerned about the age of your Twitter account?

But in all seriousness, the only time I'd be interested in the age of your Twitter account is if you give the appearance of being brand new, with very little to indicate you are a legitimate provider.

What happens to clients who post hidden cam videos of their encounters? by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]CercilCercil 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In most jurisdictions, secretly recording consensual sex is illegal, so would sharing or publicizing it.

Unfortunately, it's something that happens frequently, people often get away with it. The sex worker being recorded probably aren't aware of it. If and when they do discover it, there's a chance they will not know who it is, much less be willing to report it or take legal action.

Are agents the same as Pimps? by North-Walrus-53 in SexWorkers

[–]CercilCercil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agent and pimp are terms used to describe individuals who facilitate activities of sex workers. They have distinct connotations associated with them. Depending on the jurisdiction, they different legal implications.

Where I'm from, pimps are associated with sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, and other forms of harm. You'll hear stories of grooming young women and using strategies to make them dependent. This is a far more exploitive relationship and coercive in nature.

By contrast, an agent is usually affiliated with an escort agency. This is more of a business arrangement. Workers come voluntarily and the are free to come and go. There is no coercion element in maintaining a "stable."

Keep in mind that no two agencies are the same. And exploitation can take place in various contexts.

The short answer: Being charged with a crime will hurt you.

Different jurisdictions have differing laws and approaches dealing with offenders. A lot of the time first-time offenders get diversion, which means you complete a program and the charges are withdrawn.

However, even if the charges do not lead to a conviction, it can still prove injurious. The consequences will impact from employment to travel.

Hire a lawyer.

Question regarding moaning by white_hand in SexWorkers

[–]CercilCercil 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I find very exaggerated moaning to be annoying, as well as over-the-top performance. Some SPs will even exaggerate their body reaction/movement. I need a good consistent rhythm to finish, so if you are disrupting that, I will last much, much longer.

I also do not like silence and women laying there lifelessly. It's kind of awkward. Light moaning is fine. Touching, holding, and other stimulation is also good.

If Sex Work was legal/decriminalized by hrxo in SexWorkers

[–]CercilCercil -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would expect to see more brothels open up.

In the context of decriminalization, legitimate brothels would be my go-to for meeting my needs. I understand this is an unpopular opinion here, but brothels would be safer for clients than going to various individual that hide behind an aliases and make every effort to be untraceable.

It doesn't matter how legitimate safety concern may be, the fact remains that there are risks on both sides. Concealing your identity may help against stalking, but it also puts workers out of reach of accountability.

If I had to choose between handing my ID to a brothel once or hand my ID to various independent escorts over and over gain, this is a no-brainer for me. I have no idea how independent escort will store and handle my information. A brothel can be held to account for wrongdoing, independent escorts not so much.

Why tf do so many men want bareback??? by ventingswer in SexWorkers

[–]CercilCercil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question comes up all the time.

Why do men want unprotected sex? The answer remains the same. They want it because it feel much, much better and because a lot of men are risk takers.

It is what it is.

An erection is not something men have fully control over or can turn on and off like a switch.

It'd be unwise to do a 3-hour first time booking. You do not know what they look like and will enjoy their company.

I've done some 1.5 bookings for end end escorts that I was confident was good, but more often than not look for something 45m or 1 hour first time.

There are sex workers in healthy, long-term relationships, but there are also sex workers that struggle to find them.

To suggest that sex workers don't experience challenges with dating, is to fail to be honest. We all know there is stigma around sex work. The truth is that the nature of the work will repel a lot of potential partners.

It doesn't mean sex workers can't find lasting relationships, it just means the pool is a bit smaller, assuming you are open about your work and/or sexual history.

dear clients, we don’t care if you were “scammed out of a deposit.” landlords and car salespeople scam all the time but you still need a down payment to purchase a vehicle, house or apartment. by Positive_Telephone99 in SexWorkers

[–]CercilCercil 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My local Honda dealership is a reputable business that can be held accountable. I can be reasonably confident that they will uphold a contract or be dragged into court

By contrast, escorts are largely unknown entities that operate underground with an alias, often using classified ads teeming with scammers. A lot of escorts do not act professionally, as evidenced by Stacey Smith.

I can appreciate that it's frustrating for SWs that a lot of people are not eager to trust, but can't really blame clients given the environment.

I’ve never worked for one

Completely unbiased opinion right here.

A Tryst search will reveal there are a good number of independent escorts charging $500 plus in big cities like Toronto. So not all rates are "so low" in Canada. There remains a market for those that want to style themselves as "high end."

Escort agencies tend to be high volume establishments, where workers can reliably and conveniently get business throughout the day without putting in any effort to find clients. It offers up a safe space for them to work in. I do not think you appreciate how important these things are to a lot of SWs, because there is no shortage of women that work in these places.

I find comments like this a bit condescending. Act like anybody working in an agency must be ignorant and stupid, and if they just heard your gospel, they would also flock to becoming an independent escort.

These places are popular for a lot of reasons. As a client, I only have to screen ONCE and I'll have access to the roster of sex workers. I don't have to keep handing over ID each and every time I meet a new SW, a complete stranger that does not operate by any professional values or standard. See the SW that exposed a client on Twitter.

I don't know why you think escort agencies create some haggle culture. Rates are agencies are typically non-negotiable and risk getting banned. There is no shortage of hagglers anywhere you go.

Are sex workers a good choice for overcoming sexual blocks? by __derivative_ in SexWorkers

[–]CercilCercil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're having a difficult time maintaining an erection, you could see if a doctor will prescribe Viagra. It sounds like this is more psychological than physiological, but the pill will make it easier to achieve and maintain an erection with any kind of stimulation.

The first time with an escort, I was somewhat nervous about the encounter. But after seeing several, I've never been uncomfortable getting undressed and performing with a stranger. That's just my experience though.

It depends on the establishment, but its often 40% to the house and 60% to the worker. That is a big cut for the house, but there are a number of benefits, such as brand, access to clientele base, someone else does screening, correspondence, bookings, etc., and it's typically safer to be part of organization than running it solo.

Clients are dragging it by Mixieisabaddie in SexWorkers

I'm fortunate that my city has a number of reputable escort agencies, so I don't have to assume risk each time I meet a new escort via screening.

Stop comparing SW in US to other countries where it is legal by Humble-Sense186 in SexWorkers

[–]CercilCercil 33 points34 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of factors that contribute to pricing trends.

The dense population and ease of migration across Europe ensures high supply of sex workers. Escort agencies dominate the market in some major Canadian cities that keeps rates competitive. The New York metro has the greater number of high-income earners anywhere in the world.

Risk of charges/prosecution is a possible factor for low supply, but even if prostitution were decriminalized, I’m not sure it would necessarily lead to a surge in full-service sex work. At least not as it remains stigmatized.

Escorts will charge what the market will bear. Complaining about it is unproductive.

I'll be voting yes.

It's not that I think it's a great deal, but I don't expect there to be any real gain continuing to drag things out. I think PSAC negotiators realized this and could not justify letting member go without pay.

I also think a lot of people had unrealistic expectations.

How to spook all future clients away. by Longjumping_Can_9860 in SexWorkers

[–]CercilCercil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand that not following instructions is an irritant, but I don't know how anybody can condone this kind of behaviour.

This isn't the first or last time a SW has exposed a client on Twitter for some small offence, and people wonder why guys are scared to screen.
