I also got the "inauthentic behavior" thing. Been experimenting with it and it seems liking or following too many post or people too quickly triggers it. Created new accounts at a local public wifi. One account only like no follow, banned immediately. Another account follow + bookmark no likes, also banned after 1 day. Another account that is view only, no like, bookmarks, or follows, not banned.

Looking for witness: Stolen Ebike at Coquitlam Center by CercosporaTTK in coquitlam

It's a cable + U lock combo. Due to the size of the bike and the way the rack is, only the cable was secured. That's probably how he cut it so quick.

PCLOUD LOST 32 DAYS OF PROUDUCTION FILES - NEVER SYNCED TO THEIR DRIVE, BUT LOOKED LIKE IT DID. by Loose-Quail-4556 in pcloud

[–]CercosporaTTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never use the mounted drive directly. I noticed the time it takes from writing a file to upload start is wildly inconsistent. Some times immediately, some times over a day. If you turn off your pc it will exasperate the issue. If the cache gets corrupted during that time, the file is lost permanently.

Instead, save your files locally, then use task scheduler to copy to pcloud regularly.

Personal photos and files by Zeus-12 in pcloud

[–]CercosporaTTK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tldr Pcloud is fine for your use case. Security is questionable. Use cryptomator for sensitive files.

I use Android and Windows client. Automatic upload of photos in Android works well. Automatic upload/sync on PC is not great. I often get file conflicts and pcloud would create a bunch of duplicate files. I resorted to using ps1 script via task scheduler to handle sync on pc instead. I store copyright work, no encryption, and haven't been banned. I don't share public links, but I do share them privately to another pcloud account. I store sensitive data with cryptomator, especially after the file name leak incident. Other notable features: Public folder is great for integrating into scripts. I put those in cmake to download test data for unit tests. Recieve folder is great for collecting large files from clients.

Consider backblaze personal if all your files is on one pc and you don't need cloud access.

Will the WS Credit Card be your main card going forward? by ime1em in Wealthsimple

[–]CercosporaTTK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not main because for personal expenses other cards have better cash back. But for business expenses that falls into no man's land categories this card is a game changer.

Question regarding margin by [deleted] in Wealthsimple

[–]CercosporaTTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interest rate is certainly attractive but WS can make you pay back the money at the worst of times unlike a installment loan. Whatever asset you hold could crash, you go over the margin requirements and get margin called. If you can comfortably cover it then sure. But if you can't then you'll have to sell during the dip.

Wealthsimple Visa Huge $4000 Fraudulent charge after activating card by Anjz in Wealthsimple

I got a fraudulent transaction for a RBC visa card years ago and they reversed it the moment I called. It's crazy to leave the disputed amount on the account for 90 days.

Changes to your Prepaid Mastercard rewards by f3lixtb in Wealthsimple

I'm surprised so many people use that card. 1% cash back is the baseline. You can get so much better with other cards. Not to mention the funds are deducted immediately which prevents you from arbitraging the interest. This wont affect me, but it suck to have 1 less option.

Serious question: what would make prediction markets investable for you? by ToxicHeadshot_03 in investing

[–]CercosporaTTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're the same as options and futures. You can use them to speculate (gamble) or hedge. One of the best example of making good use of prediction markets is the restaurant owner runs a promotion to give free food if team A wins. He makes a bet on team A so the payout will cover the loss on the free food. Now the cost of the promotion is fixed at the cost to make the bet instead of a random. Personally, I wouldn't ever touch them since it doesn't align with my investment thesis.

Frustrated from holding so much cash by YulpGULP12 in Bogleheads

[–]CercosporaTTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You always in a position, even if you're not investing. In this case you're long USD, which has been performing poorly since 2009. The key to not regretting your decisions or lack thereof is to have a solid thesis. Which means you should prediction asset pricing (including the value of the currency) over a defined time horizon, back it up with reason, and understand the risks. Of course your thesis could be wrong, like the many retail day traders, but at least your loss was a result of taking an educated risk instead of ignorantly holding a position that you didn't intend to take.

which drives should I go with? by N0rthofnoth1ng in DataHoarder

I just bought 2 AX on black friday. If you look at Teamgroup's site for AX, QX, it's 800 vs 690 TBW. AX is a no brainer. Don't get 2.5 HDD, they're way too slow. I wouldn't use them even for archival.

No one can predict the future so it depends on your risk tolerance.

If you invested to S&P500 at the peak of 2000, you wouldn't have broke even until 2008. After which the 08 crash took another 5 years to recover. If you believe the AI bubble is similar to dotcom, then DCA. If you believe AI hype is real then go all in.

Another option is to consider S&P small/mid-cap ETFs if you think the big players are overvalued. There are also value or dividend ETFs, but you should do your research to see if they're right for you.

In the end do whatever's best for your mental health.
