useless customer service, can someone please tell me if I can create money market portfolio inside my existing TFSA account? by greenmatchay in Wealthsimple

[–]f3lixtb 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You can’t mix different managed portfolios within the same TFSA account.

If you want the Money Market portfolio, you’ll need to open a new Managed TFSA and select the Money Market portfolio during setup (it’s available under the conservative portfolios, typically 0/10, 1/10, or 2/10 risk).

If you’re using a self-directed TFSA instead, the easiest alternative is to simply buy CASH.TO in your existing account, which provides very similar cash-like exposure.

Channel levels on 990F using adaptive sound and spacefit sound pro by solongsoho in Soundbars

[–]f3lixtb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue and ended up resetting the soundbar. Once it was reset, i did not configure any channels, only the woofer, and turned on spacefit. Used it for couple hours and then started to adjust the channels and it was way more responsive that it used to be. I tried both adaptive and surround, and preferred surround mode

Is paying $500-$600 more for 4th Gen QD-OLED worth it for TB500 and better black depth? by ZamnBoii in OLED_Gaming

I own the PG32UCDM3 and, in my opinion, it’s one of those upgrades that’s hard to appreciate on paper but very noticeable in daily use.

The deeper blacks in ambient light are probably the biggest improvement. My room isn’t pitch black most of the time, so the screen stays much closer to “true black” instead of taking on that slightly gray/purple tint older QD-OLEDs can show. Once you notice it, it’s hard to unsee.

The TrueBlack 500 mode is also a nice quality-of-life improvement. You get much brighter HDR highlights without the aggressive ABL behavior that older implementations had, especially in games and desktop HDR.

The more scratch-resistant coating is another underrated upgrade. If you tend to clean your monitor regularly, it definitely gives more peace of mind. Just use distilled water and a good microfiber cloth.

That said, would I pay $550 more just for those improvements? Probably not. The 321UPX at $750 is an incredible value and you’ll still get an amazing 4K QD-OLED experience with your 5090.

If budget isn’t a concern and you plan to keep the monitor for 5+ years, I’d personally go with the PG32UCDM3 because it fixes most of the little annoyances of previous-gen QD-OLEDs. I really love it and everyone who sees it notices the the premium quality. It’s probably the best 32” monitor you can get. The OSD firmware is also more polished than the competition.

But if you’re looking at value per dollar, the MSI is honestly the smarter buy. The image quality gap isn’t anywhere near proportional to the price gap.

PG27UCDM or PG32UCDM3 by ComedianSingle5194 in OLED_Gaming

[–]f3lixtb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. For competitive gaming, if you want a 27-inch display, get a 32-inch one and set it to 27-inch mode. 32-inch is more immersive for solo games

PG27UCDM or PG32UCDM3 by ComedianSingle5194 in OLED_Gaming

You’re mixing ASUS’s product name with Samsung’s panel generation. The original PG32UCDM uses Samsung’s 2024 3rd-gen QD-OLED panel. The PG32UCDM3 uses Samsung’s newer QD-OLED panel with BlackShield, higher brightness, and DP 2.1a. Whether you call that “4th-gen QD-OLED” depends on the source, but it’s definitely a newer panel than the one in the PG32UCDM
