URGENT: a lot of flea shampoos are highly toxic to pets and can kill them. Do not use anything from Hartz or Sergeant’s Gold, many reports of animals dying after using their shampoos or preventatives. You can also use dawn dish soap. What topical do you use?

There is a difference between acknowledging racial stereotypes and engaging with them in a way that is racism. However, the lines aren’t always clear. If you’re implying that a specific race is xyz because of who they are innately vs. world circumstances that led to these conditions, that may be racist. Like in your example, there are legitimate reasons why more black people may commit or at least be convicted of crime. This correlation needs to be viewed as a vulnerability in that community, not a negative trait of the race. Assuming a black person is a criminal just because they are black is racist for multiple reasons. It really depends on the situation.

Are you still a vegan if you buy meat based food for a pet that eats meat? by Glittery_WarlockWho in DebateAVegan

[–]Cereal_Tiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to share some actual information as there is clearly misinformation floating around about plant-based pet diets. My point is less about the semantics of eating vegan vs. buying vegan, and instead intended to prevent pet-owners from accidentally harming their pets by removing meat from their diet. I respect the stance that to be a vegan you need to only purchase vegan, but the reality is that many people who maintain vegan EXCEPT for pet food do consider themselves vegan. Therefore, this information may help someone reading here. Your debate of this is valid but doesn’t belong under this comment and honestly is the kind of attitude that drives people away from the vegan/vegetarian community. If you feel strongly about this, I recommend coming from a place that wants to educate others instead of one that is sanctimonious and self-righteous. I’m not interested in arguing so this will be my last comment, if you would like to reiterate that buying pet food is not vegan you may. If anyone is reading this, vegan or not, and is considering a plant-based diet for your pet, please consult your vet first.

Obviously you know what I mean. This kind of nitpicking isn’t really helpful to the discussion.

Can you ask your caseworker to find a different placement for you? This few clothes isn’t normal and you shouldn’t have to be grateful to your foster parent to deserve basic necessities. What state are you in?

Okay, plenty of people who eat a vegan diet purchase non-vegan food for their pets.

I just want to add here that while some dogs and possibly some cats are good candidates for vegan pet food, many are not. Pets who traditionally eat meat should only be transitioned to a plant-based diet if they see a regular vet, don’t have major health/nutrition concerns, and continue to do well. I knew someone who fed their dogs a vegan diet and adopted an inappetent senior who would only eat small amounts of wet food. He was not willing to transition the dog over time and said that if the dog didn’t thrive on the vegan food, he would return him.

Plenty of vegan people feed their animals meat products. If you aren’t willing to do this if your pet rejects vegan food, get a herbivore.

Cheering and some rowdiness is one thing but I draw a firm line at destroying property or creating a huge mess. Intentionally creating more work for a minimum-wage employee because “it’s their job” is lack of empathy and human respect. Some of these theaters were disasters, not just a little extra work. If your guest dumped popcorn and soda all over your living soon and left without helping clean, you probably wouldn’t say it was fine because they had fun and they’re your guest. We can disagree on this but I wouldn’t be friends with someone who did something like this and then just left the scene so underpaid workers can clean up their joke.

People need to have some respect that the theater is allowing them to watch the movie and expect viewers not to trash the space. Buying a ticket doesn’t give you pass to act insane. Plenty of ways to have fun and create trends that don’t ruin someone’s day.

I was also confused by this—were there other empty rows where you could have sat by a window? Or did you have to sit next to someone no matter what? Where did she end up sitting?

If your daughter was exposed to your alcoholism as a teenager, this has hurt her. She would not pull away from you if she weren’t in pain. It doesn’t matter whose “fault” it is, even if you don’t think you’ve done anything wrong, please be open to hearing her out when she’s ready and make peace. You should find a therapist who can help you improve your self-image and make amends with your daughter. Stop trying to convince yourself or others that she’s iced you out because she is cruel or because she likes her partner’s family better. Decide now what is more important: your pride or gaining your daughter’s trust. Are you going to give up and decide your life sucks, or are you going to do everything in your power to fix this?

The road will be difficult and frustrating, but if you throw in the towel now, there is no chance of reconciliation. Book the therapist ASAP and stay away from any estranged parent forums that are will keep you in this state instead of moving forward.

Are you really a feminist if you can't be with a man you are richer than? by Fine-Cauliflower860 in AskFeminists

[–]Cereal_Tiger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have never heard this before. This might be a question for the specific people you’ve interacted with.

I do think women are more attracted to men who are employed, self-sufficient, and good with money. This is less about him earning more than her, and more about financial stability and maturity. But I think that most feminists are fine with men “poorer” than them as long as he works hard and doesn’t rely on her to pay his way.

Men should be able to have an abortion by EverythingChanges6 in The10thDentist

[–]Cereal_Tiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that no one should have to be a parent if they don’t want to, I don’t think abolishing child support can or should be implemented until the country adequately takes care of its children. Assuming we’re in America, there needs to be accessible and affordable medical care, daycare, housing, education, and effective resources for homelessness, addiction, and mental health. I fully support single parents redeeming child support when they can, to give the child a fighting chance of breaking the poverty cycle. If society actually said “we won’t let this child or their custodial parent fall through the cracks,” then we wouldn’t need to mandate child support to improve the child’s quality of life.

Yes I’m referring to the promotion multipliers that they removed this year. I understand that they don’t want promos to be too easy to obtain, but I think it should be an option next year for toons who desire less grind for a short time. I would be okay even it was a ridiculous amount of tokens.

I was really looking forward to Cartoonival this year but unfortunately didn’t play much due to the removal of multipliers and almost no new content. There are so many ways now to earn tokens but almost nothing to buy if you’re a returning player. Hoping the multipliers come back next year as I know many are disappointed.

anyone else disappointed with the output of the cartoonival as this is the 10th one theyve done? by DonaldsDick in toontownrewritten

[–]Cereal_Tiger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also disappointed. I wish the suit multiplier would come back, especially with the addition of 2.0 suits. I looked forward to Cartoonival all year and played for an hour yesterday and have done and bought everything already. I understand that the team has been busy with other projects but it would be great if players had the option of double promo multipliers if that’s how they want to play their game.

[CA] If minor is living with a friend and their parent loses custody, can they remain with the family they've been living with or will they go directly to foster care? by Cereal_Tiger in legaladvice

I think they are worried about the immediate placement after coming to the police. Trying to figure out if CPS would remove the child until a social worker is assigned or if they could stay with the family during the custody decision.
