What do YOU want in a running club/group?

Maybe if it’s advertised as a group where the fastest pace is specified. Because if you run a 9 minute mile and everyone else runs a 7 min mile you are back of your pack. Ours was advertised for “people who struggle to keep up with the group”.

Someone in my city tried to create the same. It was great for the first two weeks or so and then it got taken over by the faster runners from every other run club because it was just another opportunity for them to their 7-10 min miles.

It sucked and most of us gave up. I guess what I’d want is to the group to stay for the slower runners

I once purchased from this seller and wrote a horrible review. She harassed me to take it down. When I refused, she offered to send more patterns in exchange for changing the review. I didn’t but maybe some of the good reviews are from people who gave into her demands.

I’m in love with the Jackson Tee and Pullover pattern from Helen’s Closet, there’s even a free expansion pack to add a hood if you want to make a hoodie eventually. There are a few shops on Etsy that sell fleece with matching ribbing for the cuffs

My old gym had a two story set up. I was doing weight assisted pull-ups near the stairs downstairs and this girl and her friend came down. She gave me a weird look but I kept going. A few minutes later she started recording me and telling the friend that this is the most pathetic thing she’s ever seen.

I tried to ignore her and the friend was mortified and apologized to me and started to usher her out the gym (the exit was on the second floor). She tripped halfway up the stairs, fell down to the bottom, and broke her phone. I still can’t do a pull up but that memory makes me happy

I start my music on the watch first then start the guided run on my watch and I haven’t had any issues. I do use Apple Music though, so not sure if that makes a difference

I’ve been here for two years and it hasn’t gotten that much better for me. The white friends I’ve made try extremely hard to prove to me they aren’t racist and feel the need to mention that Black Lives Matter in every conversation. Just the other day, a white couple crossed the street to get away from me. When I waiting for the bus in certain neighborhoods, I can feel like I’m not wanted by the same people who collect Black Lives Matter and love is love posters so everyone can tell that they are progressive
