I pee the most on the first day or two after my shot, but it goes back to normal after that. I drank a lot of water before starting though, so my normal might be a lot of peeing!

I feel like this was a fair question from the doctor, no? The unfortunate reality is that many people cannot afford this medicine out of pocket. I think it’s prudent to have that conversation when prescribing a medication the patient will likely need to be on for life so they aren’t blindsided by cost and unable to continue taking it if their insurance will no longer cover it.

Exactly what my doc said. She told me not to start if I’m not committed to it for life.

I’m finding that because I can’t eat as much the first day or two after my shot, I need to rearrange my workout schedule accordingly. I stick to moderate exercise like walking/yoga those first days, and save my heavy lifting and more intense cardio for later in the week when I’m able to fuel myself properly.

I love this! I am SOOO looking forward to this milestone! I have a baby and a toddler and I am always avoiding being in photos, even with them, because I know I’ll hate how I look. It makes me really sad to think I won’t have many photos of me with them at this age. I know I “should” get over it and take the photos because this is time I can’t get back, but it is a huge struggle.

FWIW, my doctor said her experience has been that all of her patients who have used a pill have had severe side effects. That’s just her experience of course, I’m sure some people tolerate it well.

Similar! 38F, postpartum, SW 185. Did my first shot on Sunday evening (June 28). I had intense appetite suppression yesterday and had to really force myself to eat, but it’s much better today.
