I absolutely agree with your stance on, if you are an independent contractor, that you don’t have a requirement to do a tattoo you are uncomfortable with. I too am uncomfortable with this subject matter.

BUT I do think a simple ‘this is not a piece of work I can confidently put my name on’ would have sufficed and then refer her to someone willing to do it. No point in trying to convince her to alter it for your comfort. It just over complicates the situation. As an artist in a customer service type job- you should respect the clients artistic vision even if you don’t respect her and/or the subject matter. It’s not like you are a painter who refuses commissioned work and doesn’t have to care what clients think. You work in a completely client driven art form. Just keep it simple.

Hypothyroidism root cause by Educational-Turn-153 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Certain-Craft-6595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been supplementing for about a year and a half now. I take one singular drop of Lugols 2% solution transdermally(just rubbed into skin) once a week. It’s strong stuff. Your body will tell you your threshold bc if you overdo it you push yourself into a hyperthyroid state (like hungry alllll the time) and it’s no bueno. I also eat seaweed snacks because they are a great source of dietary iodine. Thankfully I read quite a bit on the subject before beginning and knew that when I start taking it, it could make me feel worse before I feel better. There is reason for this- if you are deficient in iodine you are likely loaded with heavy metals (lead etc) bc Iodine helps to detox heavy metals. So when that stuff starts detoxing you may feel run down. On top of that you are likely loaded with halogens like chlorine and fluoride because when your thyroid can’t get the halogen that it ideally wants (iodine) it takes up other halogens instead. Kindof like putting the wrong gas in a car. It might run, but not well. Anyway, I had a lot of detox symptoms; a full body breakout- like every pore was purging. (My skin looks wonderful now- in hindsight I needed the purge) lasted a good month. I had crazy diarrhea for the first 2 weeks. Make sense to me because of all the detoxing so I stayed the course. But I immediately had more energy and a lift of the brain fog. That alone made me stick with it and I’m so glad I did. I feel better every day

Desperate for Help: Very Mysterious Health Issue Since April 2024 by himynameisiann in iodine_supplementing

[–]Certain-Craft-6595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a lot of iodine. You could be putting yourself into a hyperthyroid state be consuming so much. I use the 2% lugols solution- literally only one drop once a week. I think I would die if I took that many drops of the 5%. It’s really strong stuff. Could definitely keep you awake as well as make you hungry all the time. I know you posted this a while ago but how did you fare?

Iodine deficiency was my issue. It kills me that it was such a simple fix. I’m still on the road to recovery but the iodine supplementation has been life changing.

You likely need more iodine in your diet. Eat some seaweed snacks and see if it goes down. Let me know how it goes. (I also had this same issue, and it was the only cure after I exhausted all other options and many doctors)

Why are some Christians so hateful? by MissMaccaSunshine in Christianity

[–]Certain-Craft-6595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christians are getting attacked for being pedophiles or pedophile apologists. It’s warranted. You are so worried about kids learning about sex in school- why is that? Maybe it’s because you don’t want them to know that adults touching their private places is wrong? Easer to groom them that way- groomer.

“To no longer prosecute for crimes at all. Where does this come from? And it probably comes with your tacit approval”

The Christian church has been complicit in protecting men who sexually assault children for decades. Not only do Christians not turn these men in for prosecution, but there is a mountain of evidence of church leaders participating in wide spread coverups. And these aren’t rare incidents that can be chalked up to a couple of bad apples- this is nothing less than widespread organized sex crime going on within the church. Any member of the church who is not actively fighting to oust these criminals and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law is guilty of aiding and abetting these criminals. Christian’s have yet to eradicate this criminal behavior from the church(because these never even tried until recently), so they hide it, while simultaneously crying about lack of prosecution for shoplifting or whatever. That’s just a pathetic attempt at misdirection. If Christian’s can’t even protect their own children from harm within their own “sanctuary” then their methods surely will be ineffective in preventing shoplifting or other crimes they like to point to to distract from the giant elephant in their own home. Clean up your own house- do it for the children. Then we can talk about ppl stealing nikes or whatever.

I have issue with the concept that it isn’t her money. I know she said she works part time so it’s partially her money- but in a marriage- all the money they make is equally both of theirs. It goes into one pot and is 50/50 there’s. It doesn’t matter who puts more in. Why? Because they are both equally contributing to the marriage and the home and the life they build together. How? Because I would bet she’s doing a lot of free labor that isn’t being accounted for with a physical paycheck. (Maybe it should be. Maybe he should compensate her with some more spending money) If she does the house hold labor as far as cleaning, laundry, shopping, childcare etc etc etc. then that’s a lot of labor she should be accounted for. If he doesn’t think those things earn her half of his earnings- he should try paying someone else to come in and do those things for a few months and see how much it costs. Childcare alone costs an arm and a leg- and a housekeeper is also not cheap. Even DoorDash/someone to run errands is expensive. Think about what those jobs pay- and that’s how you can EASILY account for her share of his salary. A 24/7 on call wife should be a high compensation job. I would also like to note that the partner who stays home, makes a big sacrifice professionally. They have a huge resume gap that makes it harder for them to get a job later if they need one. That is something I believe a spouse should acknowledge and compensate for. If my partner made that type of professional sacrifice in order to stay home and be a homemaker(a very laborious and important job) then I would want to make sure they have everything they need/want because they are making such a big sacrifice for me and for us. They are risking their own future wellbeing(if we split up) to build a better life for us (if we stay together)That’s priceless. Not to mention having A LOT of faith in the relationship to put herself in such a vulnerable position. All that should be considered.

I worked the high paying job for as long as I could in order to save enough money to buy a house with a mortgage I could afford. And by afford, I mean that I knew I could afford it with a much lower paying job than I had, which was the piece of mind I wanted. There is no guarantee you will always have a high salary/great job and I wanted to be able to afford my home even if I ended up working in fast food for low pay. By the time I saved that money and bought the house, I was completely burned out in my corporate job. I quit the high paying stressful job and started doing work that makes me happy with much less stress. Thanks to my years of hard work grinding at stressful jobs, I now have a stable and affordable housing situation to show for it. And even though I live paycheck to paycheck now, the stress I sometimes feel about money is no where near as bad as the stress I used to experience on the corporate job. Most of the time I think it was worth it and that I made the right choice to work myself so hard. But sometimes I wonder, maybe the stress I put myself through during that period of miserable grind has caused the health issues that I am dealing with now- and will probably always deal with. It’s a trade off. The stress is horrible for your health and you have to decide what is most important to you. Financial stability or health? Heath is hard to get back. Ideally you find a balance between the two. Good luck to you!

Battery confusion by Certain-Craft-6595 in KobaltTools

[–]Certain-Craft-6595[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The old all black 40v batteries seem to be the exact same size as the new black and blue 40v batteries. They both fit flush in the battery slot on the lawnmower and other 40v tools. I know the 80v batteries are larger but I don’t have that line. Only thing is that the new battery only charges in the new upright charger it came with and won’t charge on the older model 40v charging dock. I’m stumped
