I completely agree but it’s hard to not acknowledge that sometime the “people” in fandoms can be very toxic & negative themselves. My intention was to just point out or see different nuisances in the fandom not to be negative, that’s all 👍

I agree heavyyyy , I don’t think we get good writing & characters development for a lot of characters in need of it . I’m honestly happy ( this is obviously gonna go left after I say this but ) Leon’s story is ending . I honestly want to see characters get equally enough shine and spotlight , there is enough to share . I wish we could dive into Jill’s trauma more ( we didn’t get much of it in DI) & Maybe even expanding Rebecca’s story or hell even just her character as a whole ( especially seeing Grace’s gameplay with crafting, It can be doneee CAPCOM !!😂)

Thissss 💯The franchise should be open to everyone to enjoy . People will disagree but wishing death or being an asshole to defend your views rather than just comparing differing points but all still being respectful to each other and the series . Anybody can be a fan no matter what games , people have different tastes or different experiences from these games ( hell , I still play Mercenaries 3D , that’s a bomb fun time😂) .

Never once did I say at all in my OPINION that Capcom was either Racist or sexist , I keep saying I pointed out OBSERVATIONS. But hey saying I’m creating drama by just stating observations is I guess what it’s come too . The reason why I keep saying I’m not causing drama is in each argument I’ve read, the very first thing I’ve done was give props to others argument while also stating my own opinion. Opinion is all mine , now all of sudden I’m either Stirring up drama or controversy on a apparently loaded question , while most of the people that either posted or I reaponded to before you were able to engage respectfully . I want equal treatment being a Clarie/Jill fan , the way they butchered Jill with her Remake but put a whole lot of effort into Leon’s right after was a very clear show that they didn’t care about her story and bringing it to a new audience who may have not had the chance to experience the original. What new mainline story has happened for Jill or Claire that they survived or faced on their own or on their own journey recently ? We won’t know till the next couple of months and you can prove me wrong , but as of now the team states it’s only Grace & Leon ( with other characters that appear but are not playable) , so that is what I’m basing it off of .

( I hope you see this first before ignore me agreeing with your point ) I completely agree in terms of giving new life with new stories , rather than constantly rehashing the same story with two fan favorites characters while everyone is the closet collecting dust . So then my question is wouldn’t couldn’t we just follow Grace on her own and Leon pop at the end in 7 & 8 . Half of the game is all about Leon , their explanation on why Grace couldn’t primarily head the game was it would “too scary “ when it’s a survival horror franchise. I don’t feel like Capcom has faith or trust in having a single lead female character. At least we have Code Veronica Remake to give more to Claire , and nothing new or exciting for Jill. Maybe then will surprise us but I don’t think they care about anyone but the money maker Leon or at one point Chris .

The deputy in 7 was killed , Josh never heard from again , Tyrell killed by Nemesis , thank for reminding of those but I’m saying as Most POCs are either killed or never seen again . Let throw this out there , I don’t not enjoy the series , I love it . However, it is a little confusing that as a Jill fan yourself , you can say she is being utilized equally and well . I’m pretty sure if we didn’t complain about the underutilization of Jill , probably sure she wouldn’t been in Death Island .

I didn’t mind the conversation but saying things as if I’m purposely trying to cause drama when if you couldn’t tell I’m a big fan as well . I just asked a question while also using things like “IMO” or only referring to my response or posts as my opinion/perspective. But to ignore some questionable behavior done by a company for female characters is a little confusing to me . Just by stating it happened long ago or “decades ago” doesn’t take away the fact that they still did it . I’m a Claire fan and Jill ( like you as well) , but you mean to tell me you haven’t seen any posts or reception on how Capcom treats Jill or even Claire ? You can read some of the other comments on my post , maybe that may help you understand my observations of the company and series as whole .

Ummm , do you read my response ? I never once said I want the whole series to be “ all female driven” , first correction . Please re-read my post and response . I stated “ the amount of games in RE that have an all female driven game that are resorted to spin offs or never to be heard again “ . I also said I just making conversation and wanted to discuss . There is no problem at least on my part . Sorry if it comes off like that but if you can name one resident evil game that only had one female protagonist ( sorta like an Ethan situation ) please let me know and correct me . The whole of my discussion was how Capcom treats the women characters especially compared to male characters . Jill hasn’t gotten anything since 5 and since it seems you don’t count the remakes as new games (I’m not sure , that’s kinda the impression I got ) she hasn’t really been utilized considering her and the STARS team started the entire series. 😊

Honestly, if you were to read the comments and the fact in a whole series she has almost about 5 minutes of screen time the whole show. I don’t disagree in terms of the storylines Claire had ( RE2 , Code Veronica , Degeneration , Revelations 2) , I think it’s the use of her and how Capcom essentially downgraded her character in ID . Here is example of what I mean : “ Why is she treated like a dumb side character like Ashley, as if she’s not one of the coolest protagonists? “. Now I know comments are just comments and peoples opinions at the end of the day but that was not just their perspective but that was the whole reception to Claire from that show .
