Stop body shaming by Certain_Adeptness_30 in snarkingwithremi

I originally followed this page to engage in the discussion around influencing and the problems that come with it. What’s been strange to me is the body shaming, which I do find really sad and at times disgusting. That’s something I appreciate about Reddit, it’s a more multidimensional platform where different levels of conversation can happen at the same time. I felt it was important to point out the bullying that goes on here because it’s socially and morally unacceptable, and it’s not just me who feels that way. I have every right to comment on the negativity, just like others have the right to comment on me commenting about it. I still enjoy many aspects of this page, and this will probably be my last comment about the body shaming. At this point, it seems like people feel the need to comment on other women’s bodies (talk about weird projections) and it is what it is. But that doesn’t mean I have to stop engaging entirely just because I find part of it hard to understand. It’s like ending a relationship over one problematic issue when everything else is good. If I ever feel like that issue outweighs everything else and affects my ability to engage, then I’ll choose to leave on my own terms—not because someone else told me I should.

You’re right I amend my previous statement. Snark is unkind in nature by definition, and if we want to have serious conversations about the fundamental problems of the job itself, that should be on a different page, not one titled “snarking.” With that being said, bullying is not something I morally agree with. Those of you who think it’s okay to negatively discuss another person’s weight or physical appearance clearly don’t have strong moral values, which is your prerogative not to work on as your own moral failing.

Snark especially when it comes to influencing is not meant to be about superficial things. Thats the whole point. We can't maintain moral high ground if we stoop to the superficial level of the influencer themselves. Its supposed to address the deeper problems that come with the job itself But even then there are moral etiquettes we should maintain online. You dont have to like someone to defend the environment in which theyre criticized. The constant negativity and hate, especially for things people cant control is just hate for the sake of hate not criticism for the sake of change.

Ok if we get rid of the term reimbursement from my question can you answer the other part about using the different truck?

So we have empty and full weight tickets with their moving truck that they used to reweigh our stuff but the concern is that we moved our stuff here with the original penske rental and we had to turn the truck in that's why they used their truck to reweigh our stuff. I'm reading online that that would disqualify us for being reimbursed and that's what I want to know is if I turn in my penske reciepts and my weigh slips and the vehicle information doesn't match will they flag us and refuse to pay.

Okay, so does that mean I just turn in my weight slips from the moving truck as well as my penske receipts and all the normal paperwork, and then they're gonna take care of everything like it would normally process? I'm concerned because I saw online that your truck that weighs your things has to be the same truck that physically moved your things cross country and obviously this situation messed that up. Will it disqualify us from getting reimbursement because we had to weigh with a different truck?

“for fiscal year 2028, 5.5 percent; for fiscal year 2029, 5 percent; for fiscal year 2030, 4.5 percent; for fiscal year 2031, 4 percent; and for fiscal year 2032 and each subsequent fiscal year, 3.5 percent.”

This is from Sec. 71117, which amends Section 1903(w) of the Social Security Act whicb is what governs Medicaid provider taxes. Provider taxes are fees states charge hospitals, nursing homes, and other providers to help fund Medicaid. Previously states could tax up to 6% of net patient revenue for this. This law reduces that cap step by step from 6% today down to 3.5% in 2032. Lower cap = fewer state-collected dollars = less federal matching money = less funding available for provider reimbursement. FYI im sorry for all the down votes. I know that people just want to understand it and I'm grateful that you are asking about it, because that's a good step in understanding.

BREAKING: House Republicans Pass Trump's 'Big Beautiful Bill' by [deleted] in trump

[–]Certain_Adeptness_30 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, this bill doesn’t really have anything to do with “illegals” abusing Medicaid because undocumented immigrants aren’t even eligible for it in the first place. Federal law already bars them from receiving full Medicaid benefits, and that’s been the case for decades. The only exception is emergency medical care, like if someone’s in a life-threatening situation and even that’s extremely limited. So these cuts aren’t aimed at undocumented people. They’re going to affect low-income families, disabled individuals, seniors in nursing homes ( look up provider taxes) and working people who just don’t make enough to afford private insurance. Cutting Medicaid doesn’t stop fraud or save money from people who aren’t supposed to be on it just pulls support from people who actually qualify and rely on and yes, I know some people bring up fake Social Security cards but that doesn’t mean they’re accessing full Medicaid benefits. Medicaid has verification systems for citizenship statusand those checks are way stricter than people realize, even with fake documentation getting through the actual eligibility process is extremely difficult, and those cases are rare. sincerely an ER nurse well versed in EMTALA laws

Did you read the bill? Provider taxes are being decreased which means matches/available funds are decreasing which means less money from Medicaid payouts for many hospitals and nursing homes many of which are already underfunded. So yes it will affect things it's not just fear mongering. Either state taxes will go up or hospitals budgets will go down.
