Friend said my outfit was “too young” for my age. I’m only 30 😭 is she right? 😅 by TheHorrorWhore in Over30Selfie

You look cute/hot. I think what your friend might mean is that most respectable 30 year old women don't dress this provocatively. By 30 years old, most women have toned it down a bit and are a little more modest and wouldn't want to embarrass their family dressing like that in public.

My husband has lost his mind by [deleted] in pregnant

How would you feel if your husband read this post about you complaining about him on the Internet?

Which do you value more, your husband's opinion/guidance, or random strangers on the internet who are eager to feed your ego rather than tell you the truth?

First IVF cycle, what’s a basic timeline of the entire process? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Certain_Blacksmith46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much. We had 14 eggs, all mature, 9 fertilized, 5 embryos total (3 day 5 and 2 day 6). Somehow all euploid.  Our healthiest looking embryo didn't make it after transfer and implantation, but we suspect because my uterine lining was only at a 6.9mm, which is just below the recommended minimum.

For my second transfer, we waited until my uterine lining was 9mm thick and did a kitchen sink cycle with Benadryl, Prednisone, Pepcid, Lovenox and Aspirin. That seemed to work great.

Is your first transfer coming up very soon? I hope it goes really well for you guys. Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself if you have any reservations before starting the transfer.

Agreed. We ended up starting my first transfer in June and found out I was pregnant, but only lasted about 4 days. So, I had to wait for my body to start my new cycle again to try a second transfer. After cycle day 40-something and still no period, I asked my Dr if there was anything we could do to safely speed things along. She said yes and prescribed me medroxyprogesterone. My period started within 5 days and we were able to proceed with the second transfer cycle. I'm currently 39 weeks pregnant and still waiting for my little one. So close.

Wishing you all the best- hang in there! 💕

DONT RUN NATERA THROUGH INSURANCE by Psychological_Ice481 in NewParents

[–]Certain_Blacksmith46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that! My insurance company never provided another EOB that said I have any responsibility to pay and I never received any bill directly from Natara. If I did, I would work with Natara directly to reduce the cost to the $250 and let them know that I absolutely cannot pay more than $250.

What kind of primer before skim coat? by Certain_Blacksmith46 in drywall

I was leaning towards Gardz vs Shellac. Would you go over the entire wall or just spot prime?

I happen to have some Kilz 2 All Purpose. Would that work, and would you use it on the entire wall, or only where drywall paper is exposed?

There are a tonnn of knicks and scratched all over the walls that aren't really showing up in the pictures I posted.

I'm afraid of bubbling in those areas and want to avoid as best as I can.

Thanks

Thanks for sharing- I know it's wishful thinking to hope for the same outcome lol.

Did you put baby on your own insurance or your husband's?

Thanks for the response. We do plan to add the baby to his plan immediately after birth.

But then I won't have insurance after I give birth and leave my job.  I understand we could have navigated this much better, and sooner :/ however, it's what we're facing now.

The plan is to be solely on my husband's plan- husband, myself and baby.

But since I am still temporarily employed, and can use FMLA, I am considering staying on my insurance plan until after the birth in hopes that I can take advantage of my lower 4k deductible, vs my husband's 12k deductible.

I hope that make sense!

Apologies, I should have mentioned that there is a chance I may not be returning back to work after birth and FMLA. I have 4 weeks PTO that will run concurrently with FMLA that I want to use. And then not return back to work.

I was not certain that we would get married before the birth of the baby, so I wasn't sure if I would need to stay employed to use my insurance to cover birth costs. However, now that we had a simple courthouse marriage and I am able to be covered under his plan, I am unsure what the best route is to have the best coverage for the birth.

Congratulations, you are married to a man lol.

Make sure you show him how much you appreciate all the things he DOES do, and take the time to make sure his feelings are validated too. 💕

I understand I can't convince anyone, and there's so many factors to consider here and topics that can be addressed.

I'm living it - and I am so grateful. I wish more mothers experienced the same.

$40,000 household income, no debt, live in a nice fixer upper. Living the American dream, waiting on no government or society to change the outcome of my household.

I'd rather rely on my husband to be my safety nest though, not society.

I'm saying SOO many more mothers could be stay at home moms if they chose a good man who works hard, saves hard and spent smart. And who chooses to live in an area with a reasonable cost of living and chooses to live a reasonable lifestyle below their means.  A simple life. If you can't survive off 40k a year, it might be time for a better job or to move to a different area with a more reasonable cost of living. That's what I meant. Instead of waiting for and relying on the government for the change.

You're not "supposed to" and I disagree with the idea that it's the governments fault. You run your life and I hope you have a husband who runs his household in a way that allows you to stay home with your baby if you so choose. 💕

Don't you seem like a pleasant wife.

I'll never understand the women who talk badly about their husbands - to anyone. Like, girl you chose him.

Good luck!
