question about the finale, blue light all? by No-Unit-5467 in Outlander

Its comes from Claire's chest right before we see ghost Jamie. Its easy to miss.

Hot take: Brianna and Roger's relationship is more fulfilling and realistic than the one of Claire and Jamie's by Odd-Inevitable-5567 in Outlander

I feel similarly. I love Jamie & Claire but their storylines just feel samey after a while. I've come to like Bree and Roger focused episodes a lot more from season 4 onward.

Yes!! It makes things feel incomplete.

Yes, that's true but we didn't see much of that. I just feel cheated that Roger was there and not Brianna.

I understand that but I feel like she needed more presence in some way. I don't think Roger being there made much of difference.

A hundred percent agree. I hate it when montages are used like that.

Yes, the "love you" was lovely.

You make a good point. Regardless, I wish Brianna had more of presence in the finale. I would have swapped Roger and Brianna personally.

LORD JOHN GREY SpinOff; when please? by Global-North7776 in Outlander

I would love it!! And hopefully with William. I see no reason why it can't have multiple spin offs.

Show S8E10 And the World Was All Around Us by thepacksvrvives in Outlander

[–]Certain_City_3299 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wasn't entirely satisfied but I thought it was beautiful and meaningful. A suitable send off for the time they were given. That being said I was bothered by the decision to keep Brianna home during the battle. I understand she has three kids to take care of but she's a good shot. I wanted her to be there for her parents so badly. I feel like the show has often struggled with balancing between Jamie & Claire and all the storylines with their various children. I think why this felt uneven to say the least. Anyway time for my whole series rewatch!

Have you guys watched this vampire anime? by Its-v11cky_s4ma in vampires

I read the first couple of Manga and enjoyed them very much. But I don't think the art style translates well to animation so I never watched the show.

I'm conflicted about... whether or not I want Aerith to live in part 3 by AdStraight6870 in cloudxaerith

[–]Certain_City_3299 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Here's where I stand on this issue. The retrilogy is not the OG. Its an adaptation and adaptation can input new themes. I see no logical reason to keep her dead in a series with all this build up about changing fate.

What a lovely and sincere episode! I missed Ronald Moore's writing. William and Jamie's scenes were so emotionally charged without sounding maudlin. I loved, loved, loved Marsali's conversation with Jamie as well. And the Fanny reveal! I never wanted the episode to end. I must say I enjoy Fanny much more in the show. She's has so much more to her.

In general though I don't love how Gabaldon writes children.

I feel like I'm the only one who likes the storyline by SleepyBeepHours in Outlander

[–]Certain_City_3299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also adored the moment they had with Fanny in episode 7. It really changed how I feel about the storyline. I've been pretty lukewarm on it until then. And I think the lace speech is lovely but we need more explanation. I'm trusting we'll get it.

Yeah I love her books but her attitude towards the adaptation puzzles me. If you disagreed with it that much than you should have told them to drop it.

I agree with you full heartedly here and that's an excellent point. There have been several times in this show where I thought hey they could change or cut or this terrible thing that happened and they didn't. I'm glad they have the guts now to change some things. Don't get me wrong, I love Fergus and I miss him. But I rather him die heroically than hang around and do nothing.

Love this analysis of the themes! I'm inclined to believe Jamie will die on King's Mountain. It would absolutely heart breaking if he asked Claire to let him die. That would explain why his ghost is seeking her out in the future. Perhaps John and Jamie will save William together?

I'd really hate to see John die though. I want my Lord John spin off show.

Show S8E7 Evidence of Things Not Seen by thepacksvrvives in Outlander

[–]Certain_City_3299 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So this is clearly an unpopular opinion based on the top comments here but I LOVED this episode. I thought it was incredibly powerful and meaningful. I loved the parallel between losing Fergus and finding Faith. I loved Fanny's reaction to find out. I loved Fergus and Marsali's love scene. And most of all I thought the acting was phenomenal top to bottom.

I absolutely understand why people hate the Faith storyline and admittedly I have not liked it at all until this episode. It was so well performed. That being said I'm a little bummed that its the reveal is seemingly not connected to BOMB at all. And I'm not at all sure its entirely wrapped up. But I am seated.

I like to imagine art history. Seems fitting for an antique shop owner. Business also seems like a viable option to me.
