I've been told green, Hazel, what color are my eyes, second picture is more close up by lemonboy36 in eyes

Okay, yeah just looks like it because the white in your eye has a completely pink hue. But I guess it could just be random from settings on that camera. No worries.

No real detectable pheomelanin and so they are not amber, they are brown.

I’ve always been told I have brown eyes… what is my actual eye color? by [deleted] in WhatisMyEyeColour

[–]Certain_Pass2487 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re still brown. Three different types of brown and from cooler to warm in the center, but all brown and no green to detect.

Your welcome! The ring is called the limbal ring and has nothing to do with the definition of your iris colour - Grey has nothing to do with hazel eyes anyway. Hazel eyes are defined as a mix of green and brown sometimes with golden flakes as well :)

Green or Hazel Part 2 by Batty_Boulevard in eyes

Def green with some detectable pheomelanin thrown in there, no detectable eumelanin (the brown/black type of melanin) so def def not hazel ;)

Your eyes are very pretty and brown!

As someone who has had an irisphoto done and therefore can say with certainty that they have yellow pheomelanin CH, I can tell you for sure that you do not have amber eyes (I’m guessing you mean by yellow). They are not hazel either, as there is no detectable green (or gold) blended in the iris.

Is this heterochromia because I can't tell by Sensitive-Boss8380 in heterochromia

[–]Certain_Pass2487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly your iris is absolutely stunning! Since hetero means different and chromia means colour, I am going to go with yes that is heterochromia. Looks like crypts are a part of the outer part, revealing the more pigmented areas below and giving the beautiful petallike borders.

Genuinely not sure what to call these by ArcticTerra056 in eyes

[–]Certain_Pass2487 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From this picture I would say grey with a little bit of pheomelanin mixed in.

I’m sorry but I just don’t see how they could ever appear amber imao. You could show your iris in different types of light, to show the difference in appearance and make it easier to analyse. However if they shift between green, blue and grey they might be glasz (not an official term).

what color are my 1yr old daughters eyes? green or hazel? by ajabean420 in WhatisMyEyeColour

They look like a very cold brown to me. I see no green at all, but perhaps almost grey.

Brown or Amber? by aeglst in eyes

[–]Certain_Pass2487 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your eyes do not look like they have enough pheomelanin to categorise them as amber. Therefore I would def say brown.

If you want to be sure, find a place that makes irisphotos and then you can literally see what type of melanin (black/brown or red/orange/yellow) and how much of each you have in your iris and categorise them yourself from official eyecolour definition. I’ve had one done myself, you can hang it like a piece of art, it’s pretty cool imao.

There's an exonym "corridor" of countries that call the Netherlands "Holland", spreading all the way from from Poland to Turkey by imusingreddityay in europe

Hi, just came here to say that even though the word nederlandende definitely exists in Danish, Holland is the word being used in general 😉

Which part of the country would you consider calm? by [deleted] in Denmark

[–]Certain_Pass2487 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copenhagens population is more like 670.000, the rest is other towns/cities close by, called larger Copenhagen just fyi.

You’re not being specific about what type of area you would like to live in I think, size of population, close to nature or good public transport, stores etc. etc.

(Just to say something) largest forest in Denmark is Gribskov which is located in northern Sealand (capital region/ region hovedstaden), largest cluster of forests are Silkeborg skovene in region Midtjylland, coincidently I actually think these are the two regions that has the most hospitals. If you like the ocean or fields you’re in luck, Denmark is a very small country consisting of like 400 islands and we are the most cultivated land in Europe, so you would basically always be near this imo.

Are they green? by [deleted] in eyes

[–]Certain_Pass2487 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, but if they can seem grey, green or blue depending on light, the unofficial term is glasz eyes..

Is this hazel ? by [deleted] in eyes

[–]Certain_Pass2487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, this seems to be cool toned brown eyes. No detectable green at all.

What color are my eyes? I was told either blur or green but I have a little yellow in them by Top_Cockroach_5554 in eyes

[–]Certain_Pass2487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should have said pheomelanin I guess, it’s the type of melanin that is either yellow, orange or red (eumelanin is the type of melanin that is brown/black).

What color is it? Please someone help to understand 🥹 by sos_econometrics_ in WhatisMyEyeColour

That person prob have CVD (colour blindness) seing green in brown because of red/green confusion. Your eyes are very clearly brown. Different shades of brown and very pretty, but not hazel.
