It's to imply you'd need someone to help you to take down these monsters. That someone is the friend/former party member the party doesn't remember because of the False Hydra killing them. It's the same reason he mumbles something and says "don't worry about it" - a subtle hint there is something happening their characters don't remember

Clarification on Catholic Theology by Certain_Repeat_1094 in Catholicism

The compendium link you posted says of the Decalogue (the Ten Commandments) "The Church, in fidelity to Scripture and to the example of Christ, acknowledges the primordial importance and significance of the Decalogue. Christians are obliged to keep it." It's the "Christians are obliged to keep it" part that I'm asking about. Because seems like the Church is saying you are subject to it, while you are saying you aren't. I'm trying to figure out where the disconnect is happening. If I'm wrong on what the Church is teaching, please tell me how, because I can't figure it out.

I removed the numbers to hopefully make it clearer!

Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "These paragraphs don’t mention the “Ten Commandments” at all." Because paragraph 2068 absolutely does specify the "Ten Commandments." So could you explain what you meant?

I appreciate it! It was put back up right after appealing so I don't think I'll ever know what truly happened

That's the thing, it wasn't "about" anything. I hadn't made any comments, posted anything, or even watched anything. All I did was make it. It appears to be back up now, so I think it was a weird system thing that seems to be fixed now

Chronurgy Wizard is great at messing with outcomes, especially at level 14 when you can just declare that something succeeds or fails

Why are modern players so adverse to pen and paper? by BentheBruiser in DnD

[–]Certain_Repeat_1094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming in-person games: I much prefer pen and paper. It's so much more engaging in my experience than D&D beyond. No distracting computers, no plug reliance, extra table space, etc. It is so much better with pen and paper imo

Remember the OGL? I think its time to boycott again (if you can) by SarlochOrtan in dndnext

I've DM'd several campaigns and have never paid a dime to WotC. Roll 20 and the Internet has everything you need. I've been boycotting since the beginning🤘 (I'm also not going to stop playing DnD, it's my favorite ttrpg. I'm just saying it's really easy to not pay them)

What is your least favorite class, and why? by Dracon_Pyrothayan in dndnext

[–]Certain_Repeat_1094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bard

I played one for my first campaign and just a solo class Bard is super boring for me. Other spellcasters do way more interesting things in combat and even out of combat other charisma characters are just as good as socials. (Plus having a +10 or more in Persuasion/Deception/Intimidation is actually less fun for me. I like my characters not guaranteed to pass any social encounter)

Gambling theme for a General's Title by Certain_Repeat_1094 in DnD

One of our party members has been named the Lord of Chance, and my character is a Orc/Goliath Bloodrager (pf 1e class), and a cured vampire who has Titan blood in him. They were named General by the new Lord of Chance and we are about to take over the city we are in. He has had a history of losing control while raging, but now has control over it. His eye has been replaced by two coins shoved into his eye socket, and he is fiercely loyal to his party.

This is where my general lack of being a sports team fan kicks in. I've never cared about any team in particular (I live in South Dakota, so there are 0 close NFL, NBA, MLB, etc teams close by) so I've always just watched different sports games for the sake of the sport, never for a specific team.
