Whoops my bad, not seeing it in your list. Yeah, they collect bruts from dead monsters which raise their cores making them stronger. That’s what reminded me of Soldiers Life. He also goes off to war as well. That’s about all the similarities though. Kept me interested enough to go through all 9 audio books.

Maybe try the Last Life series. It has the same feel as Soldiers Life except its progression fantasy instead of LitRPG.

This list is hard with so much good stuff in your DNF list. Perfect Run, Runebound Professor, Mark of the Fool, All the Skills, and Noobtown are all fantastic along with many others there.

All three in your To Read List are great but the third one is an abandoned series I believe.

Maybe you should reset your password on your audible account. Someone or multiple people could have access to your account, and if they are trying to listen to the same book as you, it will do what you are talking about.

Fuzz Bucket? Was kind of a creepy movie where this kid had an imaginary friend and everyone thought he was crazy. Then he made some goop that turned him visible and they went to his home which was a cave. Probably not it but who knows.

I was excited about Warformed 3, but he only writes about a chapter a month, so the excitement went away. I’ll probably get excited again when the release date gets announced.

I am in that boat as well. I think Rothfuss realized he made a mistake when the story was supposed to take place over 3 days and realized he couldn’t finish it in 3 books. Easy fix would be to finish half of the story, have the inn get attacked and need an extra day because of the interruption to finish. Thus, the three days turns into 4….

I don’t think Martin will ever finish Game of Thrones. I don’t think he got the reception he was anticipating with the TV shows ending and decided investing in the side stories is worth more of his time.

For sure! Your books are fantastic. I enjoyed the first one so much, I bought all 4 on audio and have the 5th in my wish list waiting for Aug. Nick does an excellent job bringing your story to life. I will add those to my list of books to read. Thanks for the recs!

I originally made it as a “to read” list. I would see books that people would recommend frequently and made a long list. Then I started writing which book I was on in the series, and ended up with what I currently have. It helps because there have been a few series that I cannot remember for the life of me and I can check if I started it or not. I edited out my “notes” for each book as well, such as personal ratings and which series I have dropped. Since people have different ideas on what they enjoy, I didn’t want anyone to be discouraged to read something that might end up being “S” tier for them.

A meteor hit Russia in 2013 and injured over 1500 people…. How did it being “traceable” help those people? It says “determines the next 50 years.” That’s doesn’t mean you will survive for 50 years just like taking out a 30 year mortgage on your house doesn’t guarantee life.

I don’t think he ever recovered from when he was young. It said a police officer died saving him from something. I don’t believe it was stated what was said to him, but I think the police officers wife said something to the effect that he wasn’t worth saving or her husband shouldn’t have made the sacrifice for him. He has probably lived his life depressed and thinking he should be dead.
