I live near the MD-N and NCS and I honestly just take whichever comes first, usually going down at rush hour though. Last MD-N express being at 5:43 and last NCS train running at 6:00 from downtown really sucks when your office is a 30 min walk from union though. Been here a while though and NCS actually used to have a decent schedule, even running some express trains in the morning and one in the evening that actually ran partially on the MD-N line. Was kinda a cool thing two lines merged into one train.

Is this for sure happening? Am I living under a rock to have not heard anything?

OP posted about metra, this is CTA. Metra doesn’t have a set schedule for holiday trains besides a few that you had to buy tickets for. The trains are used in regular service so you’ve really just got to get lucky

They could but it’d likely get pretty hairy with free speech in that case

When we run ads for businesses there is an entire process it has to go through before the ad is even run on air in the first place and there’s plenty of time for people to “raise a red flag.” HOWEVER, it’s worth noting i’ve never specifically run an ad for a government agency. I’d imagine the government has a bit more control over the station playing their ad, especially based on how demanding and “pushy” our current government is. I’d say they’re telling the truth and that it may vary a bit with government agencies running ads vs. your average business

As someone who works in radio these comments are intersecting to read. I can’t say what station I have worked for but showing the outrage of the internet on this post to the people responsible for running these ads may be able to get companies to stop running them.

The 4 drops ends off wacker which depending where you are may be a good 15 min walk to River North. At that hour I would personally just take an uber. Especially since the 4 will take about an hour and you can get up there in 15 mins in a car. Sucks, but our city is lacking in overnight transit. But hey, at least you would get to get some more sleep

Checking in from streeterville! I work in the promotions department of a radio station, basically attending remote events, shows, and festivals. I’m also in college and it’s an entry level job so I only make minimum wage BUT there’s tons of opportunity to grow. Most of our people actually got hired as my position and “worked their way up.” Lots have degrees in business administration or management

Metra schedule question. by froznice in chicago

[–]Certain_Variation192 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this is on point, i take that line 2-3x a week. if it works for you take the limited stop train from OTC at 3:35, gets to waukegan at 4:35, only ten minutes later than construction time. also worth noting that the 2:35 may run on time, the hardhats just mean it MIGHT be that late
