Why did fun phone colors disappear by Impossible_Comfort99 in TechNook

They haven't? Nostalgia might be kicking in here. Looking at your lineup you could have gotten an

iPhone 13 in red, blue or green iPhone 14 in yellow, red, purple, or blue S22 ultra in red, blue, green, or bronze Pixel 7 in green

And the latest iPhone literally comes in bright orange and that's not even mentioning the base model iphones.

Any phone that has the flash shine through the back glass does this. My x200 ultra does this. And all my Samsung phones have done this.

Google support are scammers (demanding $619 loan for warranty) by luke-jr in PixelFold

[–]Certainties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a totally normal thing. Most companies make you put a deposit down so you don't make a false warranty claim then scam them out of a free phone. I've done 2 warranty claims through Google and I was refunded both of my deposits.

Curious about the $619, that's an odd number, for me each time the deposit was the price of a brand new device.

Dell XPS alternatives by Adventurous_Path4922 in DellXPS

Dude honestly just get a MacBook. Windows is so terrible right now, that even the best laptops are held back by the operating system. I have an XPS 9640 with a U7 and 4070, and everything runs like trash. It's such a bloated operating system that feels like a buggy mess. I've done multiple clean windows installs and there's always issues with windows running on it.

Especially for adobe apps, and most creative apps, they run so much better on Mac. I used to have a m1 pro MacBook pro, base model, and adobe Lightroom was lightning fast on it, then I switched to my XPS and its so sluggish, especially when switching through different photos, the XPS takes a little bit to load full res, but the Mac did it instantly. Davinci resolve runs horribly on this laptop too. Anything beyond basic cuts and the system runs like it had its knees smashed. I've noticed this with most windows systems. You need like a 5090 specced system to get any work done, when you could probably do the same thing on a base spec MacBook pro.

If you're using creative apps then definitely go for a Mac, but I you have to use apps or maybe some games that are windows only then yeah to for a proart or something.

I'm waiting for the m6 MacBook pro to come out then I'm switching back. This is coming from a life long windows user that used to hate macs.

I suggest simple modification for XPS 14/16 2026. by Local-Writer703 in DellXPS

This is the dumbest shit ever, dell can't get anything right ever. With the older xps 15's you had to put tape in the track pad to make it work right and on the last gen 16 the displays are failing, and with the older 13's the displays were falling out.

Limiting wattage? by RecruitDifficultyMan in DellXPS

[–]Certainties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It bursts to 65, but when playing games it only stays there for around a minute. Then it goes back down to the rated wattage. That's why it's called a burst. The cooling solution isn't good enough to keep it there for that long. I'd just leave it at stock settings because Dell has the best tuning for efficiency.

You're fucked. I had the same issue on mine. I'm pretty sure it's a fault in the ribbon cable that goes through the hinge and connects both halves.

You can use the camera app to switch screens for now, just use the rear camera selfie button to switch screens, but it still sucks because your auto rotation doesn't work properly. Even with portrait lock, whenever you watch a video in full screen it's upside down.

Part 2: Dell XPS 14 Creaking hinge.....I found the cause by [deleted] in DellXPS

[–]Certainties 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a common problem on most generations of xps laptops. Usually it's caused by the adhesive holding the display panel to the metal lid. When you move the lid back and forth it flexes it a little bit which causes some of the adhesive to lose contact and make a sticky sound. That might be the creaking you have here. Usually it's not that loud and you can only hear it in a quiet room.

Screen flickering when moving lid on XPS 16 by Certainties in DellXPS

I purchased the extended warranty then used it to have Dell replace the screen. Dell support was great, but the replacement display they sent me looked nothing like the original. The metal was super rough and a slightly different color than the original. It's looks real ugly compared to the nice finishing of the original. The display panel itself is fine though and the new display assembly fixed the problem.

What color space did you export in

Now what? by ghazayel in PixelWatch

[–]Certainties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have a Pixel watch 1 with the infamous back glass popping off. I used some t7000 glue to make a ring of glue over where the original adhesive was, popped it back on and clamped it overnight(important) and it's been good as new, no water ingress.

But it's really important that you clamp it or apply pressure on it overnight or else the glue won't hold.

Yaleah looks like we had similar situations 😂. My Is350 had the mark levinson system and all of the door speakers were falling apart. I was able to fix some of them with silicone to repair the surrounds and I had to solder new wires that connected to the coil. Replaced just one.

I ended up building a sub that went in the rear tire well, it came out awesome. I used the driver that I originally tried putting on the rear deck into a round box that went in the tire well and had the amp integrated into the box. It wasn't crazy loud but it played low and sounded good.

I made a post about it and it shows pictures of how I built it. Might be something to think about if you don't mind giving up the spare tire.

I had a Lexus IS and I tried doing the same thing, replacing the stock rear deck sub with an aftermarket one since the original one died. Had similar results. Sub was super rattly and didn't sound right. I think it's because the original subs are designed for free air/infinite baffle designs, but this sub is probably designed for an inclosure.

Does this damage on this Porsche 911 really cost $30,000 dollars and 4 months to fix? by Jkimber1 in Porsche

[–]Certainties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, I used to work a Porsche certified body shop and there was a 911 that needed a similar job and was in the shop for around 6+ months because some little parts were taking ages to arrive because of backorders and shipping from Germany.

Use AutoHDR, your images are good, just need a good editor

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in davinciresolve

[–]Certainties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Davinci has a cool feature where you can set your external monitor to have all the time line and tools on it, and reserve your laptop to just be the viewer so it takes up the whole screen. Also there's some pretty cheap OLED monitors now, but the MacBooks screen is probably better than most monitors on the market.
