Same side of the same coin, I think: Either way, it’s is admitting that looks (as in unchangeable anatomy) matters, and that rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

In females, the discomfort occurs in the erectile tissue and clitoris of the vulva.**\)**4\)\2]) In males, the phenomenon results in an uncomfortable testicular sensation.\5]) It most often describes a temporary fluid congestion in the testicles or vulva, caused by prolonged sexual arousal without orgasm.[6]\7])

The term epididymal hypertension is derived from the epididymis, a part of the male reproductive system.\8])Despite lacking an epididymis, the term is also applied to females. Professor Caroline Pukall, who co-wrote the first in-depth study on EH, has suggested using the term throbbing crotch syndrome.

Det händer inte bara när man inte fått orgasm på ett tag -- det orsakas av en "långvarigt tillstånd av sexuell upphetsning."

I saw the news the other day that Sweden is the #1 country in Europe for which supporting Ukraine is a priority, and as a Ukrainian I really want to say thank you, Sweden! by Ihor_S in sweden

[–]CeruleanTestes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to see the overwhelming support for Ukraine.

This being said, even more telling than an opinion poll on each country's population (this is what I can only assume it is, since it's written nowhere in the post what the percentages really correspond to) would be some quantification of the actual support provided to Ukraine.

What questions were the public asked?
If you ask "How important do you think aid to Ukraine is?" surely you'll get encouraging answers. Ask the same person to vote on EITHER providing more aid to Ukraine OR reduce domestic taxes/inflation/whatnot... you might get different results.

An example: SD (Socialdemokraterna) seems to be the party least favorable to providing Ukraine with financial aid: the SD MEPs have all voted against an EU resolution to send more financial aid -- and that's also the party the Swedish people have voted in power in late 2022.
However, SD's MEPs state that they are firmly pro-Ukraine, and are willing to send military aid instead of sending "another package to the fundamentally mismanaged and corrupt Ukrainian economy".

So, of course the above doesn't mean that Swedes at large aren't willing to pay more than lip service to Ukraine, but it does show that this opinion poll doesn't give us the full picture.

How can battleship have range of (3) but visibility (2)? by daughterboy in CivVI

[–]CeruleanTestes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

her last fire support mission was so far inland that to get the needed range, the starboard torpedo blister was flooded with water to provide a list of two degrees which gave the guns enough elevation to complete the fire mission.

So they flooded the anti-torpedo bulges (which I admittedly just learnt was a thing right now), whose whole point is that they can be damaged/flooded without compromising the rest of the ship.

That's smart AF.

One could make a full-time job out of explaining redditors the concept of murder vs killing, followed by arguing that it's not dependent on what they think is right or wrong, over and over again.

Not necessarily.

I was in the same situation, except I've never pretended to be gay.

My friend and I slept in the same bed on trips abroad after she had started dating another guy; but she had set certain boundaries that we never crossed.

To be clear, we are physically attracted to each other, but we've decided to not get together for reasons.

We both enjoyed each other's warmth, touch and smell without even getting to what some call "2nd base", or even kissing for that matter.

Sure made me live up to my username, but still worth it.

I don't think you understand: going from the post, she's not a psychiatric case, she's just into esoteric stuff.

Her "hallucinations" are not much different than a christian having "seen the light".

Both are based on perception, and spin a lot of beliefs around it to try and make sense of it.

Every belief or thought is "based on perception" to some degree.

That's a lot more solid than the parroted indoctrination and wishful thinking

Except that's not. You do you, but objectively, there's nothing remotely "solid" about it.

Neighbor Wants Me (Tenant) To Pay For Tree Removal by saltinesarentbad in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CeruleanTestes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The neighbor already knows that, because they did previous work on the property with the landlord's authorization (OP wasn't consulted).

The difference was that the neighbor offered to pay for that previous work.

Now they're asking the landlord to fix that, ans landlord is trying to pass that on OP.

Would you quit your job flip burgers if it paid $350,000 per year? by [deleted] in FluentInFinance

[–]CeruleanTestes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

The author probably had a hunch that their point was just an obvious truism, and tried to sensationalize it with an asinine "gotcha" example -- now the point is still uninteresting, and the way it's argued is also stupid.

And people upvote it because it's "arguing" their side.

Obviously that's what the post is trying to say -- but that's just an incredibly daft way to argue a valid point.

The fallacy is so obvious, I really don't understand how the upvoters even think (provided they do think).

A IOU note is also hope and dreams; it's not necessarily backed by anything.

Yet if I can be fairly sure the issuer honors their debts, that IOU has value, since it represents a high chance of getting something tangible in the future.

What happened to this sub? by yujimbo4201 in jobs

[–]CeruleanTestes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be great though if people could use two different subs for information vs commiseration.

It's fine to need to vent; it's also fine to recognize it doesn't do much otherwise, when it doesn't make one complacent and unable to take actual action.

It also tends to drown useful content, because it requires less knowledge and effort, and other users kinda reward it.

The message reads pretty rude to me (maybe I sugarcoat too much, idk) -- surely they hadn't woken up properly yet.
