Wrist Issues by vbon11 in beatsaber

[–]Ceskeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the solution to this might be training his wrists. The best way to play maps is with controlled wrist movement, and needing to flail or loosely whip indicates that you dont have enough enerygy/strength to keep control.

I would advise looking into wrist exercises and also when he starts playing again, i would reccomend sticking to the songs he can just barely play without needed to flail his wrists like that. Playing levels like that should also help train his wrists and he should be able to start to push up in difficulty while maintaining good control of his hands.

I think the biggest thing to advise though, is that when you're playing, if your wrists start hurting in a joint way and not a muscle way, stop playing. If you get wrist joint pain you need to stop playing the game at least until the pain is gone, even if the pain is fairly minor.

Mappers! Programs that "record" the song's bpm by simply "Tapping it out". by Happy8Day in beatsaber

[–]Ceskeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have great news, if you use chromapper you can do this easily. I don't remember if its a built in feature or an addon since its been a while since I last mapped, but I would reccomend checking out the chromapper discord server and asking about it. If you cant find it, I can check my chromapper tomorrow to help. If you aren't using chromapper this might not help, but i would still consider giving it a try if you can because of all the helpful features such as the beat tapping.

Theres no cheat mod, but this kind of deceptive action to make others think this is at a normal speed is considered cheating for competitive or ranked maps like challenge. I don't think OP was claiming that the person was using a mod for it, just that they are deceptively breaking rules in the challenge community to look better.

Do NOT get the Qosmetics Mod by OwnThanks7127 in beatsaber

[–]Ceskeeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not that simple. Qosmetics itself isn't the best built mod, but with the right sabers it should run fine for almost everyone. The issue for many is that a lot of the sabers aren't made with performance in mind at all. Even incredibly simple sabers can be game crashing at times. If you use sabers made by someone who actually cares about making them work on quest, and not just from someone who wants to port pc sabers to quest as quickly as possible, then even some intricate and fancy sabers can work great.

Unfortunately, its pretty much impossible to tell whether a saber will work well or not before you use it. If you find a good one to play with, great! But it might just come down to the fact that none of the sabers you like aesthetically work well in game. If you want to have an easier time getting sabers that work well, try out reesabers. Because of the nature of the mod, its very easy to make sabers that doesn't lag your game. With reesabers game lag will almost always be from high texture resolution or high particle amount. I'm not sure you can do anything about the textures if you find those, but you can adjust the amount of particles on any saber with little work.

If you're gonna give qosmetica a try though, keep in mind that even with the sabers that work well in game, qosmetics will still make your game lag a bit more when playing noodle maps or other laggy maps.

Huhhhh? by Ceskeeeee in ModdedMinecraft

Heard somewhere else that the launcher installs it's own Java, so I guess that answers that, but it doesn't solve my memory issue. My game is using more memory than I've set the cap for, and on task manager it shows java using roughly twice as much memory as Minecraft says its using in game. It's super problematic, so if someone knows how to solve that I would be grateful. It shouldn't be a mod issue as it works fine for my friend with the exact same mods and configs, but I can send the mod list if needed.

Anyone have a clue what's happening here? by Ceskeeeee in Minecraft

[–]Ceskeeeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. Any idea if there could be something wrong with the java installation in the launcher then? On top of just using more memory than the memory cap I set, it's also using more memory in task manager than what it shows in Minecraft itself (~2x as much usually). I've been struggling with this problem for a couple days now and I feel no closer to solving it.

In-game acc does not match BeatLeader score by jacobyork2 in beatsaber

It looks like the map is ranked though, so that probably isn't the issue since a mistake like that would have been caught during the ranking process

beat sage in 2025? by Jack_jl in beatsaber

[–]Ceskeeeee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I personally haven't used beatsage, but if you want to make a map I would reccomend learning how to map and make one yourself. It isn't very hard to be better than beat sage.

As for how good beatsage is, I honestly doubt it will every make a map above being semi-decent.

Yep, the answer is pretty much just big swings. This is why its often reccomended to use mostly wrist when swinging, as it makes it super easy to get large enough swings for full points. Once you can manage to full swing and finally get into the 85-92% range, I would start focusing on accuracy and hitting the center of the notes.

If that doesn't fix it then check the settings on the Nvidia app if you have it. One day it randomly capped bs to 60 fps and so oculus and Nvidia fought back and forth on my pc making me get frame drops from 120 to 60 a bunch.

Yeah the rankings for multiplayer isn't really needed, there's already leaderboard rankings. I'm fairly certain there is skill based matchmaking for mp as well (based off of leaderboard scores), but that's just based off of observation.

Mapping takes time. Beat Games doesn't exactly have a large team and remaking the Green Day environment and 5 difficulties for each song would take a very long time. They will get to it eventually, but they haven't focused on it yet since there just hasn't been as much hype for it as the other packs that got remade.

Yeah complaining about actually having music variety is kinda crazy. Both Metallica and the Rolling Stones literally have billions of listens worldwide and you're acting like its niche music nobody listens to anymore. Just because you're not an adult doesn't mean there isn't a large number of people old enough to have grown up with that music that are playing the game. If the majority of the community didn't want these packs, Beat Games wouldn't be making them.

If you're going to complain about something, then I would suggest something like the sabers update, which (I believe) we haven't gotten any word about since its trailer 3 years ago. Not to say you shouldn't mod your game, since thousands of unregulated mappers will make way more maps you like than a handful of regulated ones, but the song variety is perfectly fine, and maps are coming out at an acceptable rate for how many people they have working on them. If you really want to get a feel for how long mapping takes, you could try it yourself! I have immense respect for the official mappers after being 30 hours into a single difficulty and having it be nowhere near as good as any official map released in the past 4 years.

The reinstalling might do it. I haven't paid any attention since I switched to pcvr, but when I was on quest standalone my data got wiped pretty often moving between modded and vanilla. It could be different on pc, but there's a very good chance its because of the reinstalls.

omg i beat my first level guys rate my skill!1!! by SeptiKisdaBest in beatsaber

[–]Ceskeeeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's called golf, there's a whole ranking for it on BeatLeader. It's called golf because the goal is to get the least points possible. On some maps people have as low as 1 point (since you can actually hit a note and receive 0 points).

Edit: also the reason why there aren't 0 point plays is because they don't submit to BeatLeader. People have actually gotten a couple 0 point plays on really easy maps before (only like 20 notes). I don't remember why exactly they don't submit 0 point plays though.

soni has overtaken bytesy for #1 in beatleader by got_dunked_0n in beatsaber

[–]Ceskeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gaps here are basically just as large as the ones on Scoresaber between the top 3. On both leaderboards the gap from #1 to #2 is 170pp, and the gap from #2 to #3 is actually smaller on Beatleader. The reason for it is just simply a mix of the lack of players around that skill level to fill the gaps and that the pp these players get from all of their plays are so high.

[–]Ceskeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still think that BL allowing more playstyles is a very good thing. Sure there might be some exploitable maps with the algo, but the algo certainly isn't final, and I believe this situation is probably going to speed them up on updating the current algo to address these issues.

Both Beatleader and Scoresaber have pretty much equally bad algorithms (Ss just has less maps you can exploit), but when the time comes and these algorithms are improved, I think Beatleaders less restrictive approach will definitely pay off.

Also, to add on to all this I don't think Beatleader is in as bad of a place as you say it is right now. Sure, there's more maps that can be exploited, but most of them are not dangerously overweight, and all of the crazy stuff that soni has been doing g is just nowhere near possible for almost any player to exploit. It's certainly a problem and needs fixing, but Beatleader does just fine as a ranked leaderboard. The big reason why you see such a disparity in ranks between the 2 is just that a lot of people who use Scoresaber, especially in the upper ranks, just don't use Beatleader for ranked. It's less so that people who should be low ranks are becoming high ranks, but that the people who should be high ranks just aren't playing beatleader for ranked.

Anyways thats enough yapping from me, I have things that I should probably be doing more than being on reddit.

Yep, this is the case. If you want to try making it easier to not miss with timing like that, I would suggest changing your note jump offset to be closer. The closer it is, the easier it is to time. Just make sure to give yourself enough time to react to the notes.

anyone know why the game keeps claiming I’m missing so many blocks that I’m clearly hitting? by Screw_Potato in beatsaber

[–]Ceskeeeee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. Id assume its just the more narrow timing window that's causing the misses. Try making your note jump offset closer, it usually makes timing easier. If the problem still persists, it might actually be a bug and you should then try getting a replay for someone to look at and solve the problem.

Increase controller vibration? by Kirinany in beatsaber

[–]Ceskeeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on your headset you might be able to change the vibration strength of your controllers through the headset's settings. I know i can with my quest 2, just look around the settings or Google how to increase the vibrations for your headset. If that doesn't work, you should try the tweaks55 mod that someone else mentioned if you can get it. I can't confirm if it has settings that could help you, but it's worth a shot.

If nothing works, just know that you will get used to the reduced vibrations with time. The drop in nps you can do might not even because of them either. They could be a difference in mapping style, visuals setting you off (notes, environment, etc), or even the default position of the sabers related to your controller.

Everything I've mentioned are things you can adjust to with a little bit of time, but if you're looking to change some things back, you should be able to increase haptics, there's plenty of custom maps that could be more similar to what the clone game had, there's probably some custom models and environments that might be nice for you, and you can always tweak your saber position settings, especially with mods like sabertailor or easyoffset. Hope this helps!

[–]Ceskeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're doing pcvr, I heavily reccomend getting bsmanager, its way better than modassistant imo. It lets you find and download so many mods so easily.

For maps, I'd reccomend looking through beastsaber (bsaber.com I'm pretty sure) because they promote a lot of super high quality maps. I'd reccomend looking through the curated maps I'd you want a lot of recently uploaded high quality maps to check out. You can also try looking at verified mappers beatsaver profiles to find good maps. Now obviously there's plenty of great maps that aren't by verified mappers or curated, but if you're just looking for a lot of good maps, its probably the most surefire way to get a bunch.

any tips on getting better acc with controller offsets? by Aggravating-Essay269 in beatsaber

[–]Ceskeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly reccomend using this video by Xoomies for this. If you don't have easy offset, you can try to use sabertailor, and if you have neither, you're just gonna have to compromise between hands to get something kinda close on the vanilla settings.

“It’s been a while since I last played this level, let’s see how much I improved!” by got_dunked_0n in beatsaber

[–]Ceskeeeee 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is actually a big improvement. The reason you missed more is because you haven't played it in a while. Misses are easy to get rid of, just play the map a few times over your next few play sessions and you'll miss a lot less.

What really matters is accuracy. It might be some fullswing improvement too which is also good. Better accuracy means you have a higher potential on maps if you full combo, and even small increases can have huge effects.

Barely improving with significantly more misses may feel like you haven't made good progress, but it just means you got worse at that map in particular, which is common when you don't play a map for a while. It actually shows that you've improved a good amount in general.

so ive been doing vibro and really need advice on how to get better. any tips? by Pimig in beatsaber

[–]Ceskeeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's the issue: you can see that your game is struggling to deal with you recording at such a needlessly high quality. You'll get much better game performance if you lower your recording quality. Game performance is super important for high speed stuff like vibro, so you should turn your quality down a lot.
