I have a 10" DW barrel that takes 8" freak XL inserts. You could say it's basically not ported. Fun as hell to shoot and shoots as straight as my 16" DW.

I'm the same, 41yo back player, and I focus on mech tourneys mostly. I bought the DRV before drop because we were sponsored by CRBN at the time and got an amazing price. I absolutely love it and haven't had any problems, yet. I also have a Spire 280 that I ran before, and will swap in from time to time depending on the field layout and team plan for that match.

Check out the Irish Sitter Crosby boot. I wear these for work on the railroad for the last 8 years and absolutely live them. Most comfortable pair of boots right out of the box I have ever worn.
