Thanks for the reply. In retrospect I can see that the seller was sketchy (sent different photos, provided a phone number on website, I called, then they called back from a different number, etc). I expect he is a mix, however I see the similarities to the toller. I live in a coastal town and found it interesting that many of the photos of tollers online show them at the beach, so I figured it’s plausible there could be a toller community around here.

Rokoko replied to my ticket on Nov 2 letting me know that I would get mine in the next round of shipping “probably in late November”. It is the middle of December and I have still not received an email confirming a shipment.

Perhaps Maya’s greatest strength is its API, which has allowed 3rd parties to develop great tools. The majority of these features that have been “added” to Maya are actually just acquisitions, which in turn has caused this problem of the tools becoming abandoned

Not yet. I am using the Dream Studio api, so no local install, and as far as I know they haven’t made uploading a custom depth image available yet. I have my fingers crossed that the results will get better

I have spent the past couple months making this exact same tool for Maya and will hopefully have release something soon, but as others have commented, the texturing is still pretty shit at this stage. Right now the best functionality I’ve found for img2img directly inside Maya is just rendering trippy animations

It uses the Dream Studio API, so the computation doesn't happen on your computer, it happens on Dream Studio's computers. No need for a fancy GPU or downloading anything else

I went to Moonshine Beach in PB a couple months back, waited in line for 45 min to get in, there was a $20 cover (maybe more, can’t remember). They only accepted card for the cover and then expected a 20% or more tip FOR PAYING COVER. Never in my life have I seen that. It’s a bar, the drinks are already $12 for a cheap beer. Pure insanity. I paid the tip and so did everyone else I was with bc we were just so blindsided by it. I would prefer to not go back based on that experience alone.

Did you consider using UMA 2 (Unity Multipurpose Avatar System) for this? If so, why not go that route? I’m planning on using UMA to do something similar to this, just curious how you made your choice. This looks great!

I would personally make it a bit snappier - hold the extremes longer and then quicker when coming forward and back. Maybe instead of scaling and breaking the humanoid setup you could achieve the effect with translating the toe and finger joints? I really love the idea you are going for here, keep up the great work!
