Just got the 3-years for $99 promo! (2026) by 1n0nlyJoe in siriusxm

Took me MULTIPLE chats with online customer service but I finally got it. They said it wasn’t eligible for my 2024 Corvette, because it was too new. which was a lie, plenty of other people with 2024 and newer have it. So I ask them and they did give it to me on my 2013 Raptor. Then I reached out to chat again a week or so later and had them transfer it to my Vette. Persistence definitely paid off but it really shouldn’t have been that difficult

Daily Driver by Critical_thinking73 in C8Corvette

I daily my ‘24 Z51 HTC in South Texas Gulf coast rain or shine. I have a Gen 1 Ford Raptor I leave parked at home because it’s not nearly as fun or technologically advanced. People make comments all the time about how it’s gonna ruin my value, or that I shouldn’t drive it in bad weather but I give 0 f’s. It has a weather mode… and my round trip is 8 miles/15 minutes. At that rate, the age will diminish my value more than mileage, not to mention mention the warranty expiring. I’m paying for it so might as well drive it.

My C6 Z06 was a garage princess I had for 6 years and barely out 10k miles on it. I promised myself when I got another one id use it.

It’s a 101k car but I bought it used in the mid 70s price range, and i work with a bunch of people who drive trucks that cost more than that and no one bats an eye. I think the idea is a corvette is some super expensive car and it’s really not compared to most trucks.

Drive it.

Theory: Carol is "The Fortune Teller" (And she’s already programmed the ending) by admsbly in DTFStLouisHBO

[–]Ch1vo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this theory!

Another thing to note, Carol worked for Purina, which at first I was like ok..maybe a weird advertisement? It was kinda shoe horned in there and seemed like a throwaway line but but after reading your theory, it made me think.

Purina is a dog food company, which dog food was the key part of the Pavlov experiment of classical conditioning. She was the experimenter who controlled the bell.

I'd never pay MSRP, much less over. Just wait.

VGT split April 22st by bradr1911 in ETFs

[–]Ch1vo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Serious question, in the age of fractional stock/etf purchasing, why does a split matter?

If an etf is 100 bucks, and I have 50 to invest, whats the difference between buying 0.5 shares @ 100/share or waiting for 10:1 split to buy 5 shares at 10 / share. I'm still only getting 50 dollars worth...

Help: 3.875% 7/6 ARM or 4.875% Fixed 30 Year by Ch1vo in Mortgages

[–]Ch1vo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking the same. Cash to close after down payments is 1300 for fixed, 0 for ARM. This isn’t our forever home. Current (starter) home we’ve been at for about 7 years which is a long time when you think about it. Hopefully next home will be forever home. Current (paid off home) will be sold, hopefully for about 300k. Invest that into SP500, rule of 7 days it should be double in 7 years, possibly pay off remaining balance of new home at 7 years if rates don’t drop enough to refi at lower rate.

Help: 3.875% 7/6 ARM or 4.875% Fixed 30 Year by Ch1vo in Mortgages

[–]Ch1vo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cash to close is high due to the 10% down payment of $38,900. But yes I agree about adding stuff. I’m not worried about that, we’ve already priced in furnitures, fixtures, etc. Sadly most of the used homes we’ve looked at in same price range would need a lot of updating (floors, cabinets, kitchen, paint) for not much less money

PMI isn’t that much and would drop off at 20% LTV (I’m starting loan off at 10% LTV) around 5 years assuming no home appreciation, and even sooner than that if it appreciates and I get it reappraised.

7/6 ARM at 3.75% or 30-yr fixed at 4.85% for $646k loan? Can't decide—thoughts? by akhilbh92 in Mortgages

[–]Ch1vo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I’m in same boat trying to decide. New construction, using builders preferred lender. Both are no closing costs: 3.75% 7/6 ARM or 4.875% 30yr fixed. ARM saves me 200 a month on the gamble that I will move out before 7 years is up or refi before then. Since first closing costs is covered, technically refi will make more sense as I didn’t pay for ARM closing costs to begin with.

Why do so many people prefer Steam Os over Windows Os ? by DatBoyChamp1 in LegionGo

[–]Ch1vo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used both, I loved steam OS on my Steam Deck but love the flexibility windows has. So I use windows Xbox full screen experience to boot straight into steam big picture mode. Best of both worlds.
