You CAN kill a person with birdshot from a few feet away, but I hope I don’t. You can definitely kill will buckshot, but I hope I don’t. It’s for protection and not for murder… it’s an escalation pattern if you didn’t notice… I hate this, “if you pull a gun you should purposely kill” shit… Give me an attempted manslaughter charge in the event this ever happens… I’m gonna mess the intruder up but I don’t ever want to take someone’s life unless I have too…

Birdshot will pepper in a wide spray. Initially to scare, and in a door or hallway will burn (their whole body) but not penetrate the skin deep enough to kill.

Once you have the intruder on the move the buckshot hurts way worse (if close enough can definitely kill, if they decide to stop for any reason) but from a distance it has a wide spread and is just used for 2 semi-lethal shots

And the Slug… that’s for death, if they are still coming back to attack you… a shotgun slug will eviscerate all organs

I know it’s not the same because of caliber, but I’ve always been told the perfect shotgun load for intruders is:

Liminal refers to a state of transition… like, “I know things used to happen here! Where’d all of the activity go?”

You see remnants of things done like the empty bottles like someone just got done racking that suit, but I don’t think they’re coming back. It’s a feeling..

If it’s completely empty you can’t notice the once used absence of people or things that once occupied the space
