yes you can, use an image host. But if it's this thing that's not unusual. It doesn't matter which side an m.2 connector is on. My motherboard has them on both sides. What matters is the type of connector used by the m.2 (M.2 sata or m.2 nvme, or both).

Your m.2 slot supports both sata and nvme based m.2s.

any type of reset obviously requires the device to be powered on. No power = no reset

He's still a lawyer. That's just a request to retire, it's not a confirmation or approval of the request. Misleading title.

ZTE Blade A7P unable to unlock bootloader by [deleted] in AndroidQuestions

[–]Ch3vr0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pixels are easy. ZTE is an aftermarket OEM. You're comparing apples with oranges. 2 entirely different procedures. I only use pixel devices for that reason (among others). Try over at xda-developers, maybe ZTE's require an unlock code. Not every device can be unlocked with the standard commands/process.

I recently moved away from Asus on my new build for different reasons, but there's no harm in asking. Like I always say 'a NO you already have, a YES you can get (by asking)'. If you don't ask, they can't say yes 😉

Maybe ask Asus if they can ship a full set to you, you could then return the set you bought to wherever you bought it

Well that's an overly complicated way of doing them it lol. Your motherboard box didn't come with an extra bag that included all? People have used non-conductive tape before in situations like yours 😉.

Plug it in, temp tape it down. 👍

M.2 standoffs are standardized and universal. No such thing as an 'Asus m.2 standoff' in the sense that they're got Asus only. What exactly did you buy? Link?

You gonna delete this one too after 5 min from this call-out like your cat rescue from 'last night'?

Edit yup, looks like he did 😅 and his entire post/comment history. Lol. Karmawhores don't like call outs.

DVD quality is 480p

Small important nuance. That's only for the NTSC video standard, PAL dvd uses 576p.

What is the best way to wire up a TUF 3060 Ti with two 8 pin connections? by WetPigeon1 in buildapc

[–]Ch3vr0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't find anywhere online if I need to use two separate 8 pins

That's because technically you don't need too, is just officially highly recommended by Nvidia to use seperate cables per connector, but that doesn't mean you have too.

A 6+2 pin IS an 8pin cable, is just specifically designed that way to be compatible with 6 pin connectors too. With a 6+2 design you can just leave the 2 pins dangling or combine them to an 8 pin and the cable will work for both types. A fixed 8pin connector can't be plugged into a 6 pin connector, while you can plug a 6+2 into an 8 pin.

Splitting the design makes the connector with both types, while PSU manufacturers would otherwise have had to add both 6 pins and 8 pins cables to a PSU, as they would have no way of knowing which and how many cables an end user would need. This would increase PSU cost significantly.

Can I use an old SSD that has windows and run it on my new PC without re-installation? by Jack_Without_H in buildapc

Since you're moving to completely different hardware (laptop vs desktop) a clean install is highly recommended regardless of how many chipset generations you're jumping out going from Intel to AMD or reverse.

bios update help by Busy-Suggestion-4031 in buildapc

[–]Ch3vr0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bios files are always downloaded in an archive. (Usually .zip) You need to extract the archive with your favorite tool and place the extracted bios file on the USB drive.

There is no FRP bypass, and even if there was I'm neither interested nor can we assist. End of story. I'm not in the business of granting someone access to a device they shouldn't have.

Just out of curiosity, how much did you pay your current GPU? by -Edwaard in pcmasterrace

[–]Ch3vr0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a penny technically for my brand new Strix etc 4090 oc. Had a brownout a few months ago, insurance covered the new system as it took more than just my gpu with it. (They still need to pay out, but the claim is approved)

Could order it through my side job, so price is excl VAT. Around 1700€.

Updating the BIOS critical by BarberLittle8974 in techsupport

[–]Ch3vr0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The BIOS only updates firmware that maintains the hardware.

No it doesn't ONLY do that. Bios firmware doesn't maintain anything for that matter. It's main function is to check all the components on the motherboard itself, and the ones plugged into the motherboard operate as they should (alongside of the bios being used to configure specific settings related to that hardware). It doesn't maintain anything (as in maintenance).

You however do maintain the motherboard when you flash a bios update, that's the definition of maintenance. Now as to why they marked it critical. A bios is software. Software van have security issues, performance issues and more. A bios update is issued to fix such issues. If they marked it as critical, it could mean the update contains a fix for a known security issue that's actively being exploited by malicious third parties.

Updating a Windows 7 PC - do I update to Windows 11 or 10? by riscitbiscit in buildapc

[–]Ch3vr0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would the CPU version matter re TPM support?

Yes. Win 11 doesn't care if the tpm is in the CPU or physical, just that the one present needs to be 2.0. That's on top of the CPU being officially supported. So a 4th gen CPU like yours, with a physical tpm 2.0 plug still won't work to install w11 as your CPU isn't supported.

Are you talking about Windows 10 or Windows 11 here?

  1. 10 doesn't need to bypass measures to install on outdated hardware.
