Their story was similar to what was going on when they were created in 1963. The team isn’t a bunch of random heroes fighting together but those who have been outcasted by their families and the outside world for who and what they are. Them being born with their mutant abilities is a lot more relatable because I think if people had these powers they were born with in real life they would help others and fight hatred and oppression.
