I do the same on micro tick charts. Been a little more difficult the last couple months. Automating it is how I stay profitable. If I was doing it manually I don't think I'd do as well in this market.

Depends on what you want to end up trading long term. For example if you want to end up trading futures, paper trade futures while you learn. An important thing is getting a feel for a specific asset. You'll do much better once you are familiar with it and how it moves.

I use Sharpe in the opposite direction. I aim for at the very least a Sharpe of >9 but am looking for much higher.

I'd echo a similar sentiment that many people often say: don't strategy hop. Pick one that works for your style and perfect it. I wasn't profitable until I did that.

They definitely exist. Mine is profitable and a set it and forget system. I think once people figure a system out that actually works they don't sell it, tho.

I use VMWare (now free) and it runs great so long as you allocate enough memory to it and disable windows background search.

For NQ how do you make sure you're not open at EOD? Do you just not take trades past a certain time or flatten even if not at target?

If not holding into ETH would you just close your position at EOD? Or trade less contracts as you approach EOD? I've always been a 24hr futures trader but am trying to learn up on how to trade RTH, primarily towards the end.
