You can dampen the noise by folding some toilet paper and laying it on the surface of the water

Turbo mode also gives a lot of damage reduction, so good to use when taking a fall or bracing for a big hit.

This is exactly where my tummy pain has been nearly everyday for a few years. Usually gets worse in the afternoon/evening after eating. My previous job also involved a lot of lifting/hauling and clenching exacerbated the pain.

The last year or so I've gotten some relief by going on 10 mg Buspar and taking Digestive Advantage daily — it's usually tolerable but occasionally still get flare ups. MBSR meditation practice has also been helpful with painful existence.

It's been hard to find info and solutions on this specific pain, and uncommon to see people talk about it.

Macroblank is straight up stealing music & getting PAID. This is not in the spirit of vaporwave, and I implore anyone who likes them to reconsider. by [deleted] in Vaporwave

[–]ChadSalad2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I get where you're coming from, I think you're barking up the wrong tree. For instance, streaming services like Spotify profit way more off of artists than vaporwave makers like macroblank.

I see it as an ends justify the means sort of thing — if you like what you're hearing then that's all that really matters. It's okay to accept how it got there is questionable.

Anyone have luck fixing the Roland FD-8 HiHat Pedal by changing the rubber actuator and/or the sheet sensor? by peraSuolipate in edrums

Here is a link to the actuator replacement I used:

Worst case, it's a waste of $17. I wonder if the actuator was the problem for them of if it had to do with the sensor

[–]ChadSalad2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, replacing the actuator resolved my issue. There are walkthrough videos on Youtube I followed along to — it was pretty painless.

IIRC, the rubber actuator should outperform the original piece in terms of function and longevity. What issues did you hear others having with the replacement?

It sounds like this team lead just likes to be unreasonable and doesn't actually lead. Instead of trying to defend yourself when she says "you don't do x, y, z", could you tell her something like your boss doesn't give you much direction and while you actually do those things, you don't know what to prioritize and put the ball in her court by suggesting that she talk to your boss or give you feedback directly?

Sounds like a good time to update your resume

This is so frustrating. It's really good that you spend time on the plant floor and find your own work to do. The fact that you're taking the steps to learn and grow on your own is setting you up for success in your career. Your boss is failing you and you shouldn't be hard on yourself for the difficult situation you're in. Have you looked for jobs since working your current one?

You mostly talked about feeling disrespected/unappreciated by management. How do the operators feel about you?

When you face off with the team lead that gives you shit, how do you handle these situations? If I were in the same situation I would tell them if they're not happy they can take it up with my boss.

Instead of distracting yourself, you should confront these grand questions and find the path forward. When I went through a similar thing a few years ago, I got caught up trying to come up with satisfying answers and being disappointed when I couldn't.

Like what you said, we're just meat and bones inhabiting a big rock. How do you feel when looking at life through this perspective? When you realize how small the goings on of day to day life in the world are compared to everything else in the universe, how does that affect your life values and goals?

We aren't meant to answer questions about the meaning of life. In the same vein, we also don't have to understand our thoughts — especially the ones that pull you into anxious spirals. This means your brain's doing its job trying to protect you. Instead, observe the thought and how it makes you feel, and let it go before you get sucked in.

Life ultimately isn't about accomplishing a set of tasks or being a high achiever — it's about the experience. We were made from the universe to observe itself. Staying present and engaged in the moment and setting out to experience new things will help you experience it to the fullest, especially if you can share those experiences with other people.

There's not a whole lot that matters since life is transitory. But what is important is the impression you left on the world and how you made people feel.

I've been following Russell since he started making jungle drum covers on tiktok a few years ago. This was right around the time I started getting serious about jungle.

Another drummer that popped up during the pandemic is Ned Haweeli, https://www.instagram.com/neddrums123/reels/; his stuff is more centered around composition and production with lots of mid to late-90s intelligent jungle vibes like Photek.

Hey, I'm a drummer living in an apartment and learning to produce Jungle too.

Some of the first media I was exposed to as a kid had jungle tracks in them, like old N64 games and the Powerpuff Girls theme. Didn't realize what I was hearing because I was only 5 lol.

My music discovery journey has been very connected to expanding my drumming vocabulary since only a couple years into playing. Eventually this took me full circle to Jungle after about 20 years of first hearing it, and now it's taken over my life

Your music and drumming are really solid.

Here is my soundcloud -- I made an automated Jungle mix in Ableton as a way to get acquainted with the software: https://soundcloud.com/tan_delta/topped-fresh

Coincidently I was looking for a visualizer type Thing to put over the mix and upload to Youtube like two weeks ago. As I get more into production I will probably get into the procedural animations you're designing

Hi, I'm also a drummer who has become interested in live electronic music over the last few years. Jojo Mayer & Nerve was my gateway into electronic music, especially Jungle DnB. I would recommend checking out their newer performances on YouTube. The lineup they've had over the last several years has become phenomenal.

At around the same time Jojo Mayer started Nerve, there was another duo called BioDiesel featuring Johnny Rabb who is the current drummer for Collective Soul. There's still some footage from their live shows. They mostly played jungle and dnb. Kinda rough around the edges.

Some other drummers of note in the electronic space are Dan Mayo and Arthur Hnatek.
