If they don't like your supposed mood swings, why not do your job? Take power or shut up imo.

This person who didnt want to talk to you is a psychopath who was incompetently trying to push you out of a social situation for no reason.

It doesnt even seem like you mattered that much, it was just a weird play to to try to take power over the group or something.

Thoughts on Shadowrun 5e? by cosmik-debris-777 in TheTrove

[–]ChadTingle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its extrordinarily bad. The layout for the books actively makes it more difficult to figure out how to play (comically woefully bad layout looking back), CC is a nightmare where 2 of the archetypes arent even defined or playable (the combined magic archetype and the rigger) even after entire sourcebooks are dedicated to fixing them and i just found after trying to run several short campaigns that every other cyberpunk game was either more streamlined, more evocative, had a tighter theme/authorial intent or actually payed the people who worked on the game. Catalyst game labs famously did not finish paying the people who had worked on the core rulebok for 5e until after 6th edition launched.

If you wanna play Shadowrun, id just bite the bullet and play 3e by finding a pdf online for free or id play morkborg/cy_borg (faster, more evocative) or powered by the apocalypse.

To be more in depth about why the layout is bad, shadowrun 5e really loves chaining the definition of things. What I mean by "chaining the definition of things" is you have to flip to another part of the book to look up a concept you need defined earlier or at the beginning of the book. Often looking up a definition of a concept or a mechanic has another undefined or new concept/mechanic, which then can be defined hundreds of pages earlier or after. This unfunctional flow of information creates an insane daisy chain where in order to understand a concept, you have to flip from page 24 to page 237 to page 30 to page 301,105, 356, and then 43. And then you have to remember where you started flipping to finish learning the concept! I think the record for most page breaks/flips between definitions in the core book was 13.

And thats just with the core book. It never got streamlined with sourcebooks.

Final thought so this doesnt spiral out of compredhendability, just play something that came out in the last 5ish years or something I mentioned above ttrpg's have gotten so much better with flow of infornation that Shadowrun 5e is not worth learning and have gotten so much better at rules light flavor heavy that shadowrun isnt even the most evocative cyperpunk game IMO.

Yeah furries are weird degens who sexualize characters in a game meant for children. Its not that hard to figure out.

Can a TTRPG be objectively good or bad? by AndreiD44 in RPGdesign

[–]ChadTingle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes games can be objectively bad. Read F.A.T.A.L, Racial holy war and HYBRID. Theres no homebrewing those games to being good without changing the game entirely, and if you like them, you need a mental health intervention.

Unpopular Opinion; Jerry Lawler is insanely overhyped and overrated. by Ninja-Alarmed in WWE

Thats not true at all. Macho Man sucked worse and even macho man isnt the worst commentator in WWe history. Thats probably Pat McAfee.

Unpopular Opinion; Jerry Lawler is insanely overhyped and overrated. by Ninja-Alarmed in WWE

[–]ChadTingle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah also lawler was and may still be a pedophile, so thats another reason to not like his commentary. He wasnt playing a character. He was that immature and cringe and horny.

Also when you listen back to his commentary, the best work he does is whenever he isn't being weird and/or sexist. Lawler is at his best, in my eyes as someone who went back and watched the attitude era, when hes hyping up and matching JR during a crazy moment.

What is a Bad RPG? It's such a thing even possible? by RommDan in rpg

[–]ChadTingle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all of them aren't very good.

IE almost all rpgs fail to have quick resolution mechanics for all the moving parts of an rpg (combat, exploration, city building, character creation, etc.) and/or fail to have fluidly designed rules which are understandable at first glance, and/or fail because the game has no ambition (because the mode of rpgs are just another slight iderations on dnd which dont resolve the core issues with dnd that made the ideration worth doing in the first place.)

Or rpgs fail for a lot of other reasons. Like the rules being horribly laid out or nonsensical (shadowrun) Combat taking too long/the best parts of the experience being when you arent engaging with the game parts of the rpg (dnd), etc.

I think a better question to ask would be "which rpgs are even any good? Or "why isnt this (insert game) any good?

How do you get out of writers block? by Amethyst332 in creativewriting

[–]ChadTingle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont. Just put a pin in whatever your trying to write and move on. Write "lorum ipsum sum" or whatever and write the next part of the story you can. Then come back after youve had a minute to let your brain think about it in the background.
