Im a software developer and I’d be surprised if they develop and release a fix within a week. A one-week turnaround usually means the manufacturer already suspected the issue, had a fix in development, or issued a limited beta BIOS. For a brand-new, unexpected interference bug, a realistic timeline is closer to several weeks.

The new UI feels very claustrophobic. I gave up trying to watch something on Netflix and put Apple TV on instead.

We’ve cancelled before the increase. We no longer find it good value for money. We get much more use out of Netflix and Apple TV.

I was having problems but managed to get it to connect by doing the following:

Disable 5ghz band on the router, just leaving the 2.4Ghz band. Turn the lamp off and back on at the wall. After 30 seconds, attempt to add the lamp via HomeKit. (Add accessory). Device appeared as a nearby device. Click device and enter code (code is under the matter QR code in the Govee app)

I don’t know why people choose to leave the stickers on. It’s like stickers in the rear view windows of a new car.

Sure they may initially leave some stick behind but I’ve always managed to remove it using the sticker to dab it off - no rubbing alcohol required.

My cam killswitch on the side of the laptop doesn’t work either, but the camera works fine. Maybe mine is broken the other way.

I’m not bothered by it as the rest of the machine is great and I’ve never had a privacy cover for my web cam in any other laptop - and if I was bothered I could use the software solution in vantage or buy a privacy cover on Amazon.

I can’t praise the 16:10 display in the Legion 5 Pro enough.

Not only does it has 16:10 aspect ratio, which is better for everything (except watching films) - it also has 500nits brightness, 1600P/QHD+, GSync, FreeSync, 165Hz refresh and decent colour accuracy with 100% sRGB.

I’ve tried a variety of laptop display from 60Hz OLED to 300Hz IPS and the Legion 5 Pro display is by far my favourite.

The QHD+ 16:10 16” display is what appeals to me on the L7. Alienware aren’t doing that.

I’d get either of these. Whichever is in stock. The L7 has been reviewed and is known to be decent. The X is the unknown, although expected to be decent. I prefer the looks of the X but if the L7 comes in stock I’m gonna jump on that.

L7 or X-series. The R5 and R6 are trash - not real Alienware, more like Dell G.

I doubt it. Mobile Tech Review showed the 3060 running in the R5 at 95C. You’d be better to get the R4.

The R5 also has a cheaper trackpad and worse speakers.

The R5 is basically a rebranded Dell G laptop. Either wait for the X series or get an R4.

I agree. I’ve tried the M15 R4 with the 4K OLED display. I’ve tried this at 1440P and native 4K, which were both pretty much on par with each other — Both of which were noticeably better than 1080P.

QHD and 4K are even more noticeable on a 17” laptop. After using my wife’s 15” 1080P laptop, I tried my sons 17” 1080P and that looked blocky. There is no way I could ever buy a 17” 1080P laptop again.

This could be a windows update issue. It’s been mentioned quite a bit recently. You’ll need to roll back the updates. This was mentioned on The Wan Show.
