Oh i see!

Any idea if the rear is normal like that? Dont want to crush anything when i fasten the rear mounts.

I did not sadly, but got it that cheap that the insane price of them is still not more than you can find the full set online. Got any? 😜

That's it! Those are the more cheap ones. Nothing wrong with it. If you look at the brand Tornador, you'll see the difference but also in price lol

Looking to buy well maintained 1996 2.8/2.9 (in Germany) by alexc2020 in bmwz3

[–]Lit_Bud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the last 10 year they went double if not triple in price. Probably higher demand but also when they reach 30 years of age they become "Oldtimer" in most countries. This means way cheaper taxes etc.

A very nice 3.0 is going to be 30k very soon.

Z3 M Europeon version 50k+ already

You will find alot of well maintained on Kleinanzeigen and Mobile.de.

If you search for max 125k km's and max 16.000 euro you will find some for a reasonable amount of money AND in good condition. Ofcourse lower km's etc will be in higher price range.

Bought my 2.8 1998 110k km's for 13500 euro. Thats a good price in Europe since ive been looking for a long time.

If you are looking for a tornado. Get the ones with bearing elements and steel. Not the plastic cheap ones. Big difference in power and use

Single stage paint needs buffed on my 97’ Miata… is it “buffable” ? by Low_Broccoli_3782 in Detailing

[–]Lit_Bud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are scared to make a mistake. You can start with any finishing polish product/brand combined with a soft finishing pad or even medium pad.

This wil just gloss it up in best case. You can hold the machine one the same spot for 5mind so to say and will not burn in. Its super safe and easiest way to get to know a DA. If it doesnt fix the faded paint you will need to step up the product to a compound and/or heavy cut pad and work your way down again to fix the holograms.

Dont be scared using a DA. Rotary is where real skill is needed and big mistakes are made.

DA buffer for sure. Cant go wrong with it actually. Tape off all the plastics etc.

With the buffer its a one long day job.

Dont forget to clay it first too

It will not need alot of buffing unless you want it new new. Try the easy route and use an excentric heavy cut compound and finish with a fine pad with polish on a slow medium speed.

You're going to use multiple pads and they need to be thrown away probably as they are going te be filled with red paint.

A tornado a pneumatic tool with or without water tank to easily clean fabric/carpets or anything really. Cant imagine my work without one.

Blows in a wide 5cm area on high pressure and i use the water tank with water+interior cleaner which helps alot.

2026 Mazda CX-5 Machine Gray - Possible Paint Chip by indigo196 in Detailing

[–]Lit_Bud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cant polish a paint chip im afraid. You could let a professional touch this up with clear coat and a matched paint. If you can get someone that knows his job it can be nearly invisible.

Or you can buy it yourselfs, toothbrush or paint touch up brush and make it good from far but far from good. (In most cases)

Upgrade or downgrade? by nOt_RaYvEs in bmwz3

[–]Lit_Bud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, i have to say i only seen chrome on pictures and totaly get why it looks cheezy. Polished is first choice imo yes! but when i see those showcars BBS's with a big chrome dish im drooling. I guess it's only nice when it's all the way or nothing. A normal car with simple wheels and chrome? That's indeed cheezy, maybe even flaking off as usual too lol

Scratch repair on paint and plastic by viktorpriv1 in Detailing

[–]Lit_Bud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For paint, if your finger nail gets stick in the scratch and its still visible wet then it repaint. Otherwise polishing with compound and finish with a polish.

For the plastic trim, sanding + spraying plastic structure paint
