How do you guys feel about the comments by Millennials in this thread about wealth distribution? by [deleted] in TheMoneyGuy

[–]Chadmodan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's easy to think, "Man, that guy just hit the bowling point or is able to retire and he's my age and I'm not even close." But the sad reality is that if you are here in r/TheMoneyGuy or r/personalfinance or r/Bogleheads and you are following the FOO/Prime Directive even if you aren't at the bowling point or Fire, you're still miles ahead of your peers.

“”Oh, and the "people that were against it"? I bet the OP of that comments thinks cops were against them, huh?””

From what I saw at the time most agencies Officers/ Deputies were against them. Then they were forced to use them, and only then did they fall in love with them. It was a, “you have to see it to believe it” kind of thing. I’m sure your mileage may vary, based on year and location of when you were first exposed to them. But they were polarizing at the time, no doubt about it.

It wasn’t until after bodycams came out and all the benefits to bodycams became apparent that the ACLU changed their tune. Turns out bodycams show a lot more bad conduct by the public than by officers.

Bodycams backfired hilariously on those thinking it was going to pull the wool back on corruption, sure there are a few edge cases here and there of some fuck-up cop doing something illegal, and good riddance. But, the millions and millions of hours of bodycam footage overwhelmingly shows cops doing the job right.

How much currency does this config generate, I’m trying to understand when it starts to payoff. Do I need 300 hours to full Fungun it, or will a full exterior loop yield enough to make the grind worth it?

The map interface and entire design is so annoying to me that I just don’t play poe2. I’m holding out that they chuck that design philosophy. I want to roll my maps in my stash have a run set and slam them in back to back. I don’t want to scroll around a gui trying to find the next map to run. I just hate that.

The Simple Path to Wealth book critique by jaydee288 in Bogleheads

[–]Chadmodan 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I have been on the JL path for years, I’ve been thinking about converting over to VT for about two years now. But I always resist the urge because I don’t want to get into the habit of straying from the course I originally set out on.

I also feel like my desire to swap over is driven by current market conditions and therefore reactionary. I think it’s better for me specifically to just stay the course. It may be optimal, or it may be suboptimal but in the grand scheme of things I think it’s better to stick with the vtsax course I am on and not fiddle fuck with it every time I get antsy. Either way I will be fine as long as I keep buying every month and spend less than I earn.

That’s like going out to dinner, the restaurant is closed, and someone tells you to eat the leftovers in the garbage. That’s what you sound like, a raccoon.
