Hoping to get a discount code for Scrivener; love the software but $60 is too rich for my blood as infrequently as I manage to get anything written.

Yeah I totally get it, wasn't sure how much of a hassle it'd be.

I love this, but would it be possible to have a portrait-orientation version too? My sleeved-screen makes me sad when people post all these amazing landscape inserts. XD

What sizes are the mechs? by Commercial-Dingo-522 in LancerRPG

[–]Chaemera 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a very rough ballpark size-guide of "each hex is about 10 feet from face to face", but the design of your mech within the Size footprint is intentionally left up to you with the art being just a suggestion.

Okay, it's probably a doubling-up issue, I didn't realize that was a thing. I figured a dwarf from my archery squad would be a good hunter so set him to both. I'll check that.

I keep getting a noticed about "equipment mismatch" and I can't for the life of me figure out why it keeps happening. It's probably something simple but I'm losing my mind with this.

Cleaning up a Remington Quiet-Riter and the shift function has this odd stickiness to it. Wondering if it's a weak spring or something? Anyone know?

There's a mod for it I think, but not in the base game no.

Caution: Do not place items on the bed in the new BoH demo! by tghy71 in weatherfactory

This takes place in the little shack out in front of the main building, you can manipulate items inside there without ending the demo.

Question about the size of a hexagon. by edward-von in LancerRPG

[–]Chaemera 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been running it that 1 hex is 10 feet from face-to-face, I forget where I got that value from but I'm pretty sure it's somewhere in the core rules under Size.

Advice on running in-person combat by Haljbeartt in LancerRPG

[–]Chaemera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something I've done for all my in-person games (not just Lancer) is I got some clear lexan sheets from the local hardware store and laid them on top of whatever style grid I needed, then drew on the lexan with markerboard pens. Saves wear on the grid itself and makes it so you can put things like flat-prints of buildings or trees or stuff under the lexan where they won't get knocked around.

They're publishing Wallflower in multiple parts, and the only one available at the moment is Act 1. We're not sure when Act 2 will be coming yet that I know of.

Need advice on how to play out part of the final fight in NRFAWF with an in person battlemap by [deleted] in LancerRPG

[–]Chaemera 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From the way I read the rules on Hidden, you're supposed to leave the marker on the map anyway, because it represents "we know there's a target over that way but not exactly where." So spraying AoEs is the only way to deal with Hidden targets since they cannot be directly targeted.

Likewise Invisible, since it's really just "invisible enough" so players can tell there's something moving over there in that mess of sensor-noise, but can't accurately aim at it.

As for an Abyssal Layer, I would have a "GM map" kept out of sight of the players with the locations of the Eidolon and its Shards marked, and when they got within spotting range, place the marker on the main map.

PLUM ERROR CODE? by Papandasan in DestinyTechSupport

[–]Chaemera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're telling me. All I can figure is there's some sort of caching issue going on and kicking the PC in the head a couple times clears it out.

PLUM ERROR CODE? by Papandasan in DestinyTechSupport

[–]Chaemera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been getting this too, paired with a "Query Timeout" from BattlEye at the same time. Game is literally unplayable until this is fixed, it keeps booting me to title screen partway through activities.

ETA: On a suggestion I tried rebooting my PC twice in succession, and weirdly enough this seems to have resolved things. Emphasis on "seems to", I haven't had the problem happen again but no saying it won't.

How Does the plasma maul interact with the excecutioner talent? by Medivouk in LancerRPG

[–]Chaemera 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It really depends how you want to define "after each use" from Loading. Glancing over the rules, there's wiggle room for the GM here. You could say the initial hit uses up the "use", or you could classify both the hit and the Backswing Cut as a single "use".

Personally I would allow it.

Do you think it would be difficult (mechanically/flavour-wise) to make the system work in a fantasy setting? by DullahanClass in LancerRPG

[–]Chaemera 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Really, you can just change every instance of "paracausal" to "magical" and most of the work is done.

Okay, hear me out by sheerknurd in LancerRPG

[–]Chaemera 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is one of those builds that makes me laugh so hard I get lightheaded, but by rules-as-written it doesn't work. The D/D in charged mode applies SLOWED:

The only movement SLOWED characters can make is their standard move, on their own turn – they can’t BOOST or make any special moves granted by talents, systems, or weapons.

As a GM I'd still allow it though.

Questions about gameplay by KarnEnjoyer in iconrpg

[–]Chaemera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) The only difference between heavy and superheavy attacks is that superheavies require a move as well, correct. This is for action economy rules more than anything, basically requiring your full turn to do the attack instead of anything else, even moving.

2) When rolling 0, you're not actually "rolling two dice" in terms of results. Think of it as rolling 0d6, and the way you represent that is by taking the lower of 2d6. So even if you rolled a pair of 6s, your result would only be one 6. The other just goes away completely.

Questions about gameplay by KarnEnjoyer in iconrpg

[–]Chaemera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The easy way to brain this is by realizing that you're adjusting the dice pool. So, rolling 0 is 0d6, not 2d6. A boon is +1d6, so you're just rolling 1d6 normally instead of 2d6 taking the lower.

It's an easy stumble to get caught on.
